The scene of the fire was a swampy area, making it difficult for firefighting vehicles to access.
According to initial information from the People's Committee of Ngoc Son Ward, at 1:00 AM on June 1, 2026, the fishing vessel with registration number NA-90972-TS, measuring 14.85m in length and 136 horsepower, engaged in trawling, owned by Mr. Tran Van Sau, residing in Dien Chau Commune, Nghe An Province, and captained by Mr. Le Cong Tuan, residing in Nam Thanh residential area, Ngoc Son Ward, Thanh Hoa Province, suddenly caught fire while anchored at Lach Ghep wharf. It is known that the vessel docked at Lach Ghep wharf at 5:13 PM on May 22, 2026.
Immediately after discovering the fire, the Lach Ghep Border Guard Station mobilized forces equipped with rapid response vehicles to the scene. However, because the area where the ship was anchored was a swamp, the specialized firefighting equipment could not operate normally.

Authorities and fishermen assisted in extinguishing the fire.
Faced with the urgent situation, the Border Guard quickly coordinated with the Ngoc Son Ward People's Committee and other relevant agencies to mobilize one speedboat and five officers and soldiers. At the same time, they called on fishing boats from nearby fishermen to participate in the rescue effort. Dozens of people used hoses, buckets, containers, basins, and other available items to throw water and extinguish the fire.
After more than 3 hours of firefighting efforts, by 4:00 AM the same day, the fire was brought under control and completely extinguished.

The fire completely destroyed the cabin, the locomotive, and the fishing gear system.
The fire caused no casualties. However, the entire cabin, engine, and fishing gear system on board were completely destroyed. The estimated property damage is approximately 1.2 billion VND.
Currently, the cause of the fire is still being investigated and clarified by the relevant authorities.
