According to TBR Football , Chelsea do not want to pay up to 85 million pounds as requested by West Ham to welcome Kudus. Instead, "The Blues" are willing to push many players to West Ham as a way to own the 24-year-old winger.
These include Robert Sanchez, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Tosin Adarabioyo, Trevoh Chalobah, Benoit Badiashile, Axel Disasi and Carney Chukwuemeka. Of these, Sanchez was Chelsea's number one goalkeeper last season, but was criticised for making many mistakes. Meanwhile, the defender duo Badiashile and Disasi also failed to inspire confidence among Chelsea fans.

Kudus joined West Ham in the summer of 2023 for £36m from Ajax. In his debut season, he scored 14 goals in all competitions. But in the 2024/25 season, Kudus only had 5 goals and 3 assists in the Premier League.
Despite his poor form, Kudus is still highly regarded by Chelsea for his dribbling and playmaking abilities. The Blues hope to complete the deal before the FIFA Club World Cup in mid-June.
Before negotiating to welcome Kudus, Chelsea just announced their first new player, striker Liam Delap from Ipswich Town for a fee of 30 million pounds.
