Amidst the booming digital economy , small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Vietnam are undergoing a significant transformation, shifting from traditional models to digital operations. They are becoming a pioneering force, playing a new role as the backbone of the consumer market. However, challenges related to cash flow, working capital, and short-term financing costs remain major obstacles, especially during peak holiday seasons – when demand for shopping, stocking, and employee salaries increases sharply.

To address these challenges,VIB and Visa have partnered to introduce a comprehensive financial solution package for supply chains in Vietnam.

The solution package is built on a deep understanding of the real-world needs of businesses as suppliers, manufacturers, distributors, and retailers, focusing on three key elements: Capital - Cash Flow - Payments.

The VIB Business Card (Visa) is designed as a short-term financing source for SMEs, with a credit limit of up to VND 1 billion and an interest-free period of up to 58 days – the longest in the market. This helps businesses proactively manage short-term capital, optimize financial costs, and ensure uninterrupted business operations. The card offers flexibility with the option of unlimited reward points accumulation or lifetime annual fee waiver, and allows for an unlimited number of supplementary cards to meet diverse operational needs according to business size. Upon reaching an annual spending level of VND 500 million, cardholders will receive unlimited free access to the business lounge. The combination of VIB's superior financial solutions and Visa's technology platform helps businesses not only meet new regulations on cashless transactions for VAT refunds but also control cash flow more transparently, efficiently, and sustainably.

VIB's Super Yield Account for businesses is designed as a cash flow optimization tool, helping SMEs and household businesses transform idle capital into passive income, generating high returns while ensuring flexible withdrawal and payment options. With attractive interest rates ranging from 2.5% to 4.5% per year – among the highest in the market – customers can withdraw money at any time without losing interest. For example, a household business receiving 1.1 billion VND in goods and activating a Super Yield Account with a deposit of 100 million VND, maintaining a balance of 1 billion VND in the Super Yield Account for 90 days, can receive a total profit of 9.2 million VND – significantly higher than the interest earned if maintaining this balance in a regular payment account. This is a smart solution that helps businesses optimize capital efficiency while ensuring liquidity for short-term financial needs.

The QR Checkout & SoftPOS payment solution on the VIB Business digital banking platform provides businesses with a modern, secure, and transparent payment ecosystem. Transactions are processed quickly, shortening the cash collection process, minimizing cash risks, and automatically recording and reconciling transactions for convenient management. The QR code payment service integrates a notification speaker to support cash flow management by store or cashier. The SoftPOS solution transforms smartphones into mobile POS machines, combined with the VIB Business App, offering maximum flexibility. All revenue from payment channels is stored on the cloud platform, allowing for easy receipt retrieval and ensuring transparency in all transactions.

Ms. Tuong Nguyen, Deputy General Director of VIB, shared: "With this financial ecosystem, we aim to partner with distributors, retailers, and SMEs in managing finances more effectively. The product not only helps to unblock cash flow and reduce capital pressure during peak seasons, but also opens up a sustainable approach where every idle dollar is awakened to create more value."

Visa: Vietnam leads the region in corporate card adoption.

The latest research commissioned by Visa's KoreFusion shows that Vietnamese businesses are leading the Asia- Pacific region in the use of business cards for B2B payments. Card payments in Vietnam account for 8.3% of total B2B sales at card-accepting vendors – the highest in the region and more than double the average of 3.3%.

At the launch event, Ms. Dang Tuyet Dung, Director of Visa Vietnam and Laos, emphasized: "Vietnamese businesses are playing a pioneering role in the region in the application of corporate cards. However, SMEs still face many difficulties in fully applying digital technology. That is why Visa and VIB have introduced a supply chain finance solution with three distinct benefits: expanding access to capital, ensuring transparency and security, and optimizing cash flow."

With Visa's B2B business payment solution, VIB cardholders can make payments to any business's payment account even if they haven't enabled card acceptance, thereby improving cash flow with attractive discounts for early payments, enhancing control over expenses, and minimizing business operational tasks through the application of digital processes and data mining.

Ms. Dung also affirmed: "For over 30 years of partnership with Vietnam, Visa has always strived to build safe and convenient payment methods, contributing to the development of the digital economy. Today's cooperation with VIB is not just about a financial product, but also a catalyst for Vietnamese businesses to expand further in the region and globally."

According to Visa research, expanding B2B card payment acceptance can deliver an average net profit improvement of 52 basis points, while boosting sales by 2.14%, with half of that coming from new customers. This presents a significant opportunity for Vietnamese SMEs – a group often burdened by operating costs and debt management challenges.

Combining VIB's financial strength with Visa's global technology platform, this solution package is expected to open a new direction for Vietnam's supply chain – where capital management, payments, and operational profits are managed within a transparent, secure, and sustainable ecosystem.
