Chelsea win UEFA Conference League, historic victory

On the morning of May 29, Chelsea was crowned UEFA Conference League champion after defeating Real Betis 4-1 in the final match held in Poland.

Chelsea got off to a poor start in the UEFA Conference League final, allowing Real Betis to take the lead in the ninth minute.

It all started with a poor pass from Malo Gusto. The ball bounced to Isco. And the former Real Madrid player made a perfect pass for Abde Ezzalzouli to shoot diagonally into the box, scoring the opening goal of the match.

After the goal, Real Betis' excitement increased. The Spanish representative had 2 more scoring opportunities in the 13th and 21st minutes but failed to take advantage of them.

And Real Betis had to pay the price for this waste. In the following minutes, Chelsea did not have many dangerous opportunities but they did reduce the excitement of their opponents.

After the break, Chelsea brought on Recce James and Jadon Sancho for Malo Gusto and Pedro Neto. Chelsea's comeback was marked in the 65th minute when Cole Palmer made a beautiful cross for Enzo Fernandez to head home.

It is worth mentioning that in this situation, Marc Bartra - a 1m84 tall center back was completely helpless against Enzo's sneaky header. Everything was so perfect from Palmer's cross to Enzo's header.

5 minutes later, Palmer again with a man-to-man, pressing on the right wing and crossing the ball like putting it in. But this time the person who touched the ball to score was Nicolas Jackson. 2-1 for Chelsea and everything on the pitch quickly changed.

With nothing left to lose, Betis rose strongly. But the representative of Spanish football was completely deadlocked in finding a way into Chelsea's goal.

By pushing the team too high, Real Betis had to endure Chelsea's counter-attacks. And from two such counter-attacks, Jadon Sancho (minute 83) and Moisés Caicedo (minute 90+1) scored to seal a 4-1 victory for Chelsea.

This is the first time in history that Chelsea has won the UEFA Conference League. And this is also the 9th European title for the blue team from London (after 2 Champions League, 2 Europa League, 2 UEFA Cup Winners' Cup and 2 European Super Cup).
