Albino South Sea mouse-deer just discovered: A species in the Red Book

Vu Quang National Park has just set up a camera trap and for the first time recorded the image of a rare albino mutant Indonesian chevrotain. As a species listed in the Vietnam Red Book, the Indonesian chevrotain needs to be protected and preserved.

Both males and females have no horns, the fangs grow out beyond the edges (in males longer than in females), and the upper incisors are missing. The South Sea chevrotain has short, smooth fur, reddish-brown on the upper surface, fading on the sides, dark along the middle of the back, with a black streak along the nape of the neck, and under the chin.
