90 billion VND spent on restoring the ancient citadel of Quang Tri.

(CLO) The Quang Tri Ancient Citadel National Special Historical Site will be upgraded and restored with a total investment of 90 billion VND.

The People's Committee of Quang Tri province has just approved a project to restore the Quang Tri Ancient Citadel National Special Historical Site and other memorial sites commemorating the 81 days and nights of fighting to defend the Quang Tri Ancient Citadel.

The project has a total investment of up to 90 billion VND, funded from the central government budget.

Accordingly, the project's objective is to preserve, restore, and promote the value of the historical site, contributing to the education of patriotism among generations of Vietnamese people, while also creating a tourist destination for Quang Tri province in particular and the whole country in general. According to the project scope, for the Quang Tri Ancient Citadel National Special Monument Area, the project will involve reinforcing the outer embankment of the citadel lake, preventing the deterioration of Lao Xa, reinforcing the arch of the Rear Gate, renovating the defensive road around the citadel, renewing the concrete roadbed inside the citadel, upgrading and repairing the lake embankment; and installing a monument information sign...

For the Bodhi School relic in Quang Tri town, the restoration, reinforcement, and strengthening against deterioration of the relic, along with the renovation of many items including the garden, construction of a new gate, fence, and auxiliary facilities, are underway.

The Long Hung Church relic in Hai Lang district will be restored, reinforced to prevent deterioration, have new retaining walls and gate pillars built, and have a concrete foundation and lighting system installed.

Preserving and promoting the value of the Quang Tri Ancient Citadel, a special national historical site, and the memorial sites commemorating the 81-day and 81-night battle in 1972, not only aims to educate future generations of Vietnamese people about patriotism but also creates attractive tourist destinations for Quang Tri province and the whole country.
