Spending 90 billion VND to restore Quang Tri ancient citadel relic

(CLO) The Quang Tri Ancient Citadel National Special Relic Site will be upgraded and restored with a total investment of 90 billion VND.

The People's Committee of Quang Tri province has just approved the project to restore the Quang Tri Ancient Citadel National Special Relic Site and memorial sites for the 81 days and nights of fighting to protect the Quang Tri Ancient Citadel.

The project has a total investment of up to 90 billion VND, funded from the central budget.

Accordingly, the project's goal is to preserve, restore and promote the value of the relic, contributing to educating the patriotism of generations of Vietnamese people, while creating a tourist destination for Quang Tri province in particular and the whole country in general. According to the scale of the project, for the Quang Tri Ancient Citadel National Special Relic Site, the outer embankment of the Citadel Lake will be reinforced, Lao Xa Lake will be prevented from deteriorating, the Hau Gate dome will be reinforced, the roads around the citadel will be renovated, the concrete roadbed inside the citadel will be renewed, the lake embankment will be upgraded and repaired; the monument introduction sign will be reinforced...

For Bo De School Relic in Quang Tri town, restoration, reinforcement, and prevention of relic degradation along with renovation of many items including garden, new gate, fence, and auxiliary items.

Long Hung Church relic in Hai Lang district will be restored, reinforced, strengthened against degradation, new retaining walls and gate pillars will be built, concrete foundation and lighting system will be poured.

The preservation and promotion of the value of the special national historical relic of Quang Tri Citadel and the memorial sites of the 81-day and night events in 1972 not only aims to educate the spirit of patriotism for generations of Vietnamese people but also creates an attractive tourist destination for Quang Tri province and the whole country.
