Coach Doan Thi Kim Chi of Ho Chi Minh City FC I has received a two-match coaching ban from the Disciplinary Committee of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF). The former football star was fined for intentionally disrupting the match between Ho Chi Minh City FC I and Than Khoang San Vietnam (TKS Vietnam) in Round 4 of the National Women's Football Championship.

In the 87th minute, midfielder Cù Thị Huỳnh Như (TP.HCM I), in an attempt to defend, obstructed Nguyễn Thị Thuý (TKS Vietnam) inside the penalty area. Referee Vũ Văn Điền immediately awarded a penalty to TKS Vietnam, determining that Huỳnh Như had committed a foul. This was a play where the player's contact with and obstruction of the opponent's shot was illegal.

Ms. Kim Chi called her players off the field for a few minutes. However, the players returned to the field to continue the match. Later, Duong Thi Van missed a penalty, and Ho Chi Minh City I still won 1-0 and took the lead in the standings.

According to information from the VFF, the disciplinary decision was made based on reports from the referee supervisor and match supervisor, as well as a separate report from the refereeing team. Specifically, the video footage shows that the players of the Ho Chi Minh City I women's team did not react in any way. However, coach Kim Chi urged her players to leave the field and stop playing when TKS Vietnam was preparing to take a penalty kick.

According to the rules of the game, only the main referee has the right to stop the match; coaches and players are not allowed to temporarily halt the game without the referee's permission.

Also on the afternoon of November 28th, Ms. Doan Thi Kim Chi personally submitted a complaint to the tournament organizers and the VFF Disciplinary Committee. In the complaint, Ms. Chi argued that the refereeing team made an unfavorable decision, causing frustration for the Ho Chi Minh City I women's team players. Therefore, Ms. Chi requested her players return to the technical area to prevent further misconduct and correct their attitude during the match. Thus, the coach hoped the Disciplinary Committee would reconsider the penalty.
