The consumer price index fell by 0.15% in May.

According to statistics from Dong Nai City, the consumer price index (CPI) in Dong Nai in May 2026 decreased by 0.15% compared to the previous month. On average, the CPI increased by 4.44% in the first five months of the year compared to the same period last year.

The main reason for the decrease in the CPI in May 2026 was the 1.01% drop in the food and beverage group. In addition, several other groups of goods and services also saw price decreases, such as: culture, entertainment and tourism; information and communication; beverages… Conversely, some groups of goods and services experienced price increases. Specifically, the transportation group increased by 0.77%, contributing 0.09% to the overall CPI increase. This was mainly due to the continued high price of gasoline and diesel in the domestic market. Furthermore, several other groups of goods and services saw price increases, including: housing, electricity, water, fuel and construction materials; clothing, hats and footwear; household equipment and appliances; medicine and medical services… The education group, however, remained unchanged compared to the previous month.
