Ms. Nguyen Tran Phuong Ha, Deputy Secretary of the City Youth Union, President of the City Student Association, and President of the City Children's Council, said: The Dong Nai City Children's Festival will be held in two clusters: Tran Bien ward (on June 1st and 2nd) and Binh Phuoc ward (on June 7th and 8th) with many lively and meaningful activities for teenagers and children.
From enriching playgrounds…
Along with gift-giving and scholarship programs for disadvantaged children, the highlight of the 2026 Dong Nai City Children's Festival is the enriching playgrounds for children. Immediately after the opening ceremony of the Dong Nai City Children's Festival (Cluster 1) held at the City Youth Cultural Center (facility 1 in Tran Bien ward), children from communes and wards in the southern part of Dong Nai city participated in a variety of diverse and engaging activities at the Children's Playground.
Games such as ring toss, stacking water bottles of the same color, sorting balls by color, lucky wheel, zigzag ball drop, etc., arranged in the grounds of the City Youth Cultural Center, attracted many children who participated with enthusiasm and excitement. Many children were participating in the games for the first time, so they observed attentively. Some children had participated in the games before, so completing the challenges was quite easy.
Mai Dinh Khoa, a 4th-grade student from Vinh Tan Primary School (Tan An commune), arrived at the City Youth Cultural Center very early. Dinh Khoa said: "I'm lucky because I was able to receive an award from a competition organized by the City Youth Cultural Center and also participate in the games at the festival. After playing three games in a row, I realized that the games not only brought me joy but also helped me develop dexterity and reflexes. Even more exciting is that upon completing a challenge, players receive a voucher to redeem for a gift."
Within the framework of the festival, children also had the opportunity to participate in many attractive experiential spaces such as: a space for books and childhood; a creative space with STEM, Robotics and artificial intelligence (AI) activities; a space for international integration; a green space for the environment…
In addition, to create a platform for talented and passionate children (aged 6-15) to interact, showcase their abilities, and contribute to promoting cultural and artistic activities among children, the City Youth Union organized the 2026 Dong Nai City Children's Modern Dance Group Festival.
The festival attracted 25 teams performing in various genres: hip-hop, popping, locking, breaking, waacking, K-pop dance covers, street dance… and other modern dance styles suitable for children. Most of the performances had positive content, inspiring and showcasing the dynamic spirit of youth. In particular, many performances also spread a sense of national pride, love for the homeland, and the aspirations of young people in the new era…
The Dong Nai City Children's Festival should become an annual event. This is because it's not just a kick-off activity for summer, but also a major festival for children; a place where they can learn, play, interact, experience, and develop comprehensively in a safe environment.

...to activities that promote children's participation rights.
For many years, in order to concretize children's right to participation, the Youth Union branches at all levels in Dong Nai province (now Dong Nai city) have established and put into operation the model of Children's Councils at all levels.
According to Nguyen Tran Phuong Ha, Deputy Secretary of the City Youth Union, the members of the Children's Council are all outstanding individuals in their studies and training, possessing good morals, teamwork skills, presentation skills, critical thinking skills, and actively participating in social activities. By participating in the Children's Council, they will represent the voice, thoughts, and aspirations of children in the area; exchange ideas, engage in dialogue, and make recommendations to relevant authorities on issues related to children. Thanks to this, all levels and sectors can understand the needs of children and plan and implement appropriate and effective activities for the care, protection, and education of children.
Following up on previous achievements, the Dong Nai City Youth Union issued a decision to establish the Children's Council. At the 2026 Dong Nai City Children's Festival, the City Youth Union launched the City Children's Council with 125 members, representing children in 95 communes and wards of the city. Pham Le Gia Han, a student in class 6A5 at An Loc B Secondary School (An Loc ward), shared: "Participating in the Children's Council is an honor, a source of pride, and a responsibility for me and the other members. I understand that this is not only an opportunity to express the thoughts and aspirations of children, but also an environment to learn, practice skills, enhance a sense of responsibility, and contribute practical ideas to activities for children."
Immediately after its launch, the City Council for Children held its first meeting. Under the leadership of the interim Presidium of the City Council for Children, the meeting was lively, attracting many opinions and discussions from members on issues related to children such as: summer recreation; safe use of social media; participation in Youth Union and Young Pioneer activities; children's living environment, etc.
Besides activities related to child protection, the Dong Nai City Children's Festival also included a communication campaign on preventing and combating child abuse online. In addition to providing information on the situation of child abuse online and the methods used, experts recommended various solutions to help protect children online. In this context, children are not only the target of protection but also the main actors in ensuring their own safety.
Specifically, to ensure their own safety, children need to proactively equip themselves with knowledge by participating in awareness campaigns and reading safety guidelines at school and at home; they should not share sensitive images, contact information, or addresses of themselves or their families on social media. In addition, they can set boundaries by not talking to, meeting, or trusting people they only know online; using the platform's reporting feature when they see harmful content; and seeking intervention from adults or authorities when threatened, harassed, or bullied online.
From fun and enriching playgrounds to activities that promote children's participation in matters concerning them, these initiatives have contributed to motivating children to be confident in their studies, training, and holistic development.
