Last weekend, Omoda & Jaecoo Vietnam brought a brand new model called C7 to display in Hanoi . According to the plan, this Chinese brand SUV model will be officially launched and its price will be announced at the end of September this year. The C7 is the second model of the Omoda brand in Vietnam, after the C5. Compared to the C5, the Omoda C7 is larger in size and is positioned in the C-size SUV segment. The car has dimensions of length x width x height of 4,660 x 1,875 x 1,670 mm and a wheelbase of 2,720 mm. Thus, the car has an overall size that is slightly larger than competitors in the same segment such as the Mazda CX-5 and Hyundai Tucson.
Applying the "Art in Motion" design language, the Omoda C7 has a rather impressive appearance with a hood that protrudes forward like a bird's beak, sharp headlights and a frameless grille that blends into the front bumper. Inside the grille are hexagonal details, painted in the same color as the body, reminiscent of the new generation Lexus RX. Next are 19-inch alloy wheels with aerodynamic design, deep-sloping rear windows and LED taillights located across the rear of the car. This taillight cluster comes with a pretty eye-catching lightning pattern inside. The car has enough front/rear sensors, a panoramic camera system with the ability to see under the car... Inside the Omoda C7 is a fairly spacious 5-seater interior. The car's interior is designed minimalistically with some highlights such as a multi-layer dashboard, a two-spoke steering wheel, an 8.88-inch digital clock and a large HUD head-up display above. The air-conditioning vents are designed to extend across the entire dashboard, further enhancing the spacious feeling of the interior. Other notable features of this Chinese car include ventilated front seats, a driver's seat with massage function, a 15.6-inch central touch screen that can slide to the right for use by the front passenger...
The car's screen supports Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity, 8-speaker Sony sound system, panoramic sunroof, interior ambient lighting, dual-zone air conditioning, PM0.3 fine dust filter and 50W wireless charging. Under the hood of the Omoda C7 are two engine options, including a gasoline engine and a plug-in hybrid (PHEV). Of which, the gasoline version uses a 1.6L turbocharged engine, accompanied by a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. The engine produces a maximum capacity of 183 horsepower and a maximum torque of 275 Nm. Meanwhile, the PHEV version uses the Super Hybrid System (SHS) powertrain, including a 1.5 TGDI gasoline engine and an electric motor, generating a total capacity of 346 horsepower. The 18.4 kWh battery pack allows the car to run 95 km without using the gasoline engine. When filled with gasoline and fully charged, the car has a range of 1,250 km. Thanks to that, the car only consumes an average of 5.9 liters of gasoline per 100 km. The car's safety equipment is also very complete with 7 airbags, tire pressure sensors and 540-degree camera, adaptive cruise control, speed limit with warning, automatic high/low beam adjustment, blind spot warning, lane change assist,...
In addition, the car also has cross-traffic warning when reversing, automatic braking when reversing, collision warning when opening the door, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, automatic emergency braking, traffic jam driving assist and warning when the vehicle in front moves. According to a sales consultant at the dealership, the Omoda C7 will be priced between VND800 and VND900 million in Vietnam. Initially, the car will be imported completely in Vietnam. When the factory in Thai Binh province comes into operation, expected from 2026, the car will be assembled in Vietnam and have a more attractive price. Right from its public display in Vietnam, Omoda C7 quickly attracted users thanks to its unique design, modern technology and a series of safety features. The car is expected to go on sale in September this year, competing with rivals such as Mazda CX-5, Hyundai Tucson or Ford Territory.
