Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth told reporters at the Pentagon that "today will once again be our most intense day of attack on Iranian territory."
Hegseth's statement came shortly after he said that "in the last 24 hours, Iran has launched the lowest number of missiles ever."

General Dan Caine, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, stated at the same press conference that the U.S. military was entering its 11th day of operations against Iran.
Tehran endured a night of intense bombing by Israel and the United States.
Iran's capital, Tehran, experienced one of the most intense nights of bombing by the United States and Israel since the war began, with large areas of the sprawling city heavily damaged.
Fighter jets flew at low altitudes over Tehran throughout the night, dropping dozens of heavy bombs that rocked residential areas across the city of over 10 million people and terrified residents.

Sima*, a 38-year-old woman living with her family in western Tehran, described last night's airstrikes: "At first, it felt like dozens of fighter jets were flying right over us for 15 minutes, then paused for a few minutes before the next wave of airstrikes came."
"The ground, the windows, and even our hearts were shaking, but we took shelter in the bathroom and made it through," she said, requesting anonymity for security reasons.
Several Tehran residents interviewed by Al Jazeera said they saw blinding flashes of light from intense airstrikes, quickly turning the night into day in the early hours of Tuesday morning. Some residents climbed onto rooftops or balconies to watch and film.
The US is targeting mine-carrying vessels.
Trump announced that the U.S. military had "completely destroyed" 10 inactive Iranian mine-laying vessels following reports of Iranian activity in the Strait of Hormuz.
In a social media post, Trump added that there would be "more moves to come," implying that the U.S. would target other mine-laying vessels.
The announcement of the targeting of ships came shortly after two other social media posts by the US president, in which he said he had received no reports of Iran placing mines in the strategic waterway, but also warned Tehran that if they did so, he wanted them removed immediately.
140 American soldiers were wounded.
The United States has confirmed that approximately 140 of its soldiers have been wounded since the war against Iran began on February 28.
“The majority of these injuries are minor, and 108 servicemen have returned to duty. Eight other servicemen remain seriously injured and are receiving the highest level of medical care.”
This statement comes after Reuters published a report citing two unnamed officials who said 150 soldiers had been wounded in the first 10 days of the war.
The world must condemn this.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi told UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres that Iran expects him and the Security Council to take a stronger stance in condemning the "aggression" of the United States and Israel.
During the phone call, Mr. Araghchi stressed the role of the United Nations in maintaining peace and “emphasized the deep expectations of the Iranian government and people of Iran that the Secretary-General and the UN Security Council would take stronger and more responsible positions in clearly condemning acts of aggression.”
WHO warns of "black rain"
The World Health Organization warned on Tuesday that "black rain" falling on Iran following airstrikes targeting oil facilities could cause respiratory problems, and supported Iran's advice for people to stay indoors.
The United Nations health agency, which has offices in Iran and works with the country's authorities on health emergencies, said it had received several reports of oil-laden rain this week.
Black smoke blanketed Tehran on Monday after an oil refinery was attacked, in an escalating move targeting Iran's domestic energy supply as part of a coordinated campaign by the United States and Israel.
"The accompanying black rain and acid rain have posed a risk to people, particularly to their respiratory systems," World Health Organization spokesman Christian Lindmeier said at a press briefing in Geneva, adding that Iran had advised people to stay indoors.
Trump: It's possible I will negotiate with Iran.
Fox News reported that U.S. President Donald Trump said in an interview with the channel on Monday that he might negotiate with Iran. Trump responded to the possibility of negotiations with Tehran by saying that he had heard of Iran's strong desire for dialogue.

Mr. Trump also reiterated his dissatisfaction with Iran's new supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei. He told Fox News, "I don't think he's capable of living in peace." Mr. Trump told Fox News that the results of the U.S. military campaign in Iran "far exceeded expectations."
He added that he was surprised by Iran's missile and drone attacks on Gulf states. Earlier that day, the US president had warned that the United States would respond with strong force if Iran disrupted the flow of oil through the Strait of Hormuz.
Trump declared on the Truth Social platform that any move by Iran to block oil shipments through the English Channel would be met with a response from the U.S. that would be "20 times stronger" than any previous attack on Tehran.
The UN Security Council will vote to demand that Iran cease its attacks.
The draft resolution, obtained by the Associated Press, condemns Iran's attacks on Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Jordan. The resolution calls for an immediate end to all attacks and threats against neighboring countries, including those carried out through proxy forces.

The United Nations Security Council voted to demand that Iran stop its attacks.
Three diplomats, speaking on condition of anonymity before an official announcement, said the vote was scheduled for Wednesday afternoon.
This draft resolution, sponsored by members of the Gulf Cooperation Council, would be the first Security Council resolution to be considered since Israel and the United States launched airstrikes on Iran and Tehran retaliated with attacks on Israel and throughout the region.
Iran's ambassador to the United Nations, Amir Saeid Iravani, condemned the resolution, calling it "biased and politically motivated." He warned that if adopted, it would be a "stain" on the credibility of the Security Council and encourage Israel and the United States to take further aggressive actions.
Russia condemns Israel's attack on the cultural center.
Moscow has accused Israel of "unprovoked aggression" after Israeli forces attacked a Russian cultural center in Lebanon.
The attack on the facility in the southern city of Nabatieh was reported by director Asaad Diya, who said the building was unoccupied at the time.
Rossotrudnichestvo, Russia's international humanitarian cooperation agency, which has an official office in Beirut, said its staff remain in contact with Lebanese partners and are actively providing aid to civilians affected by the conflicts.
Rossotrudnichestvo emphasized that the Nabatieh cultural center “is not involved in any military activities” and that the attack is unjustifiable.
