Chiesa considers returning to Italy to play football. |
Chiesa, 27, has endured a disappointing 2024/25 Premier League campaign, making just six appearances, including just one domestic start, since joining Liverpool for £10m. His contract runs until June 2028.
When asked about the possibility of returning to Serie A to play, Chiesa told Gazzetta : “It is something to think about this summer. My family, my agent and I have a good relationship with Liverpool. The current goal is to prepare well for the new season. We will find the best solution for all parties."
Chiesa also revealed that he is training seriously according to the training plan from Liverpool's coaches. "I want to be in the best shape for the tests on July 8. But I also miss playing in friendly matches. I had to start from scratch when I came to Liverpool, which prevented me from shining."
Chiesa made 14 appearances in all competitions last season, but only played 466 minutes due to fitness issues. He contributed two goals and two assists, including an injury-time consolation in the Carabao Cup final defeat to Newcastle in March.
"My dream is to participate in the World Cup," Chiesa said. British media said the striker is considering offers from Serie A clubs to return to his homeland to play football, in order to revive his form and regain the trust of head coach Luciano Spalletti.
