The event contributes to strengthening cultural exchange and cooperation between Vietnam and Sweden through cinema; at the same time, it educates aesthetics, nurtures the soul, and develops creativity in children through works rich in humanistic values.
The film week will take place from June 1st to 5th, 2026, opening at 8:30 AM on June 1st at Ngoc Khanh Cinema (523 Kim Ma, Hanoi ). Two films will be screened at the opening ceremony: the Vietnamese animated film *Deservedly Served to the Fox * and the Swedish feature film *Pippi Longstocking *.
Over the five days of the event, audiences will enjoy 14 films, including 3 Swedish feature films and 11 Vietnamese animated films. Screenings are for children and those under 16 years old.
The specific screening schedule is as follows:
9:25-11:30 AM on June 1st: Opening ceremony and screening of the Vietnamese animated film *The Fox Gets What He Deserves* (directed by Le Minh Hien); and the Swedish feature film *Pippi Longstocking* (directed by Olle Hellbom).
9 AM on June 2nd: Screening of a series of Vietnamese animated films including "The Great Emperor" (Meritorious Artist Trinh Lam Tung), "The Story of Giong and the Little Cat" (People's Artist Ngo Manh Lan).
9 AM on June 3rd: Screening of the Swedish feature film Ronja - The Bandit's Daughter, directed by Tage Danielsson.
9:00 AM on June 4th: Screening of a series of Vietnamese animated films including *The Toad and the Frog*, *Miracle of Resurrection* (directed by People's Artist Ngo Manh Lan), * The Spoiled Chicken Feather * (directed by Bui Manh Quang), *Neighbors* (directed by Tran Anh Tuan), *The Caterpillar Turns into a Butterfly* (directed by People's Artist Pham Ngoc Tuan), and *The Warm Lamp* (directed by Tran Xuan Du).
9:00 AM on June 5th: Screening of the Vietnamese animated film * The Talking Magpie* (by People's Artist Ngo Manh Lan) and the Swedish feature film *The Lion Brothers* directed by Olle Hellbom. The films are suitable for audiences under 13 years old, provided they are watched with a parent or guardian.
In particular, at the opening ceremony, Kim Dong Publishing House will introduce to the public the Vietnamese editions of famous works by author Astrid Lindgren that have been adapted into films, including four comic books about the little girl Pippi: Do You Know Pippi ?, Pippi Goes Shopping , Pippi on the Wonderland , and Pippi Saves Christmas . In addition, a mini-game related to the Pippi Longstocking movie will also be organized for children.
