NDO - Domestic scientists are anticipating the return of VinFuture Science and Technology Week 2024 with a series of activities connecting science and technology, especially the "VinFuture Future Exploration Dialogue Series," promising a "golden opportunity" to access global knowledge and collaborate on development.

The "VinFuture Future Exploration Dialogue Series," first held in 2023, aims to open up opportunities for collaboration and technology transfer from around the world to Vietnam.

At the event, scientists who are members of the VinFuture Award Council and the preliminary judging panel, along with leading global experts in cutting-edge technology fields, will interact, exchange knowledge, and share experiences with Vietnamese scientists and researchers, while also inspiring tens of thousands of students and young researchers in the country about their scientific journey.

In 2024, eight organizations, including Vietnam's largest research institutes, universities, and businesses, will participate in in-depth discussions with leading global scientists focusing on key areas such as artificial intelligence (AI), medicine, energy, and the environment.

An opportunity to acquire cutting-edge global knowledge.

According to Associate Professor, Dr. Ngo Van Minh, University of Transport, the science networking activity "Chain of Dialogues Exploring the Future" within the VinFuture 2024 Science and Technology Week is creating an unprecedented wave of excitement among the university's lecturers and students.

"Inviting world-leading professors, including experts in developing international innovation indicators, to share their insights on artificial intelligence – a field that is taking the world by storm – is no easy feat," he emphasized.

Representatives from the University of Transport and Communications added that the university hopes to make the most of this opportunity to learn how to apply AI in teaching and training, and to research and develop a set of innovation indicators suitable for the specific characteristics of Vietnamese universities.

As one of the organizations participating in the dialogue series, Hanoi University of Industry hopes that not only faculty and staff but also students will benefit from the sharing of leading scientists from around the world.

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Hong Son, from Hanoi University of Industry, said that together with the VinFuture Foundation, the university chose the topic of energy and advanced materials, which is both attractive to participants and relevant to practical development orientations.

“I hope this topic will bring great value to the school, as well as to the specialized units,” he shared, “This is a new source of knowledge, useful for training, research, and guiding the future development of science and technology,” said Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Hong Son.

Domestic and international scientists highly appreciate the role of VinFuture in providing opportunities to increase the exchange and connection of global knowledge.

Meanwhile, Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Thi Thanh Nga, from the Institute of Meteorology, Hydrology and Climate Change, expressed enthusiasm for the potential to expand multilateral cooperation opportunities through this direct dialogue event.

Domestic and international scientists highly appreciate the role of VinFuture in providing opportunities to increase the exchange and connection of global knowledge.

According to Associate Professor, Dr. Thanh Nga, domestic institutions have traditionally faced difficulties in terms of resources and working methods, but VinFuture is making a significant difference. "VinFuture has a groundbreaking approach to scientific development, creating opportunities for the Institute to access the most advanced technologies that the Foundation is also pursuing," she emphasized.

Furthermore, the VinFuture Science and Technology Week 2024 offers the Vietnamese scientific community the opportunity to directly meet outstanding global minds in their respective fields. "By exchanging ideas with experts, we can quickly access the latest research ideas and methods, and integrate with advanced global knowledge," she added.

To accelerate the progress of Vietnamese science

Through this event, Vietnamese scientists also have the opportunity to directly raise the challenges they are facing and discuss them with leading scientists worldwide to find the most effective solutions.

Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Thi Thanh Nga commented that the top concern of the Institute of Meteorology, Hydrology and Climate Change currently is the relationship between climate change and various sectors, especially agriculture and energy – two important fields in Vietnam. For agriculture, the challenges are becoming multifaceted, as it must both adapt to climate change and reduce emissions within the sector itself. Meanwhile, for energy, green transition is expected to be the key to unlocking a more sustainable future.

Associate Professor, Dr. Thanh Nga hopes that insights from leading experts worldwide will provide a comprehensive perspective, enabling the Institute to approach the issue appropriately. "In-depth research will contribute to Vietnam's emission reduction goals and help us achieve our sustainable development strategy," she affirmed.

From a training perspective, Associate Professor, Dr. Thanh Nga also emphasized the value that the event brings to the development of young human resources.

"This is a valuable opportunity that we need to seize, especially for the younger generation. With the sharing of experience from international professors, we can progress faster, narrow the gap with the global scientific community, and effectively apply it to Vietnam," emphasized Associate Professor, Dr. Thanh Nga.

In addition, Associate Professor, Dr. Ngo Van Minh affirmed that the VinFuture Foundation is playing an important role in building a focused and systematic research culture, similar to universities around the world.

“VinFuture’s partnership is considered a prime example of corporate social responsibility, contributing to a solid foundation for the development of science and technology in Vietnam. The VinFuture Foundation’s focus on supporting the practical needs of researchers not only encourages innovation but also enhances the competitiveness of Vietnamese science in the global environment,” affirmed Associate Professor, Dr. Ngo Van Minh.

In this context, experts expressed their hope that after the workshop, the cooperative relationship with the VinFuture Foundation would continue to expand. “With a systematic, professional, and efficient approach, I am confident that the VinFuture Foundation will succeed in its mission. I also hope that after the workshop, Hanoi University of Industry and the Foundation will maintain a close cooperative relationship, contributing to supporting the university's scientists and promoting the Foundation's development in accordance with its stated principles,” Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Hong Son remarked.
