Located on Hoang Minh Thao Street, near the intersection with Nguyen Van Linh Street, Hang Market (Le Chan Ward) is not only a place for buying and selling but also a cultural landmark from previous decades, possessing a rare historical depth amidst a young and dynamic city.

Hang Market has a long history, initially as a place where people traded seeds and livestock for agricultural production. In those days, villagers from the surrounding area would bring handfuls of seeds, chicks, piglets, etc., to the market for exchange and trade. From its early beginnings, Hang Market gradually became a place that connected the community, a place for buying and selling not only for the people of Hai Phong but also for people from neighboring provinces.

What makes Hang Market unique and rare is that it only meets once a week, on Sunday mornings. From dawn, while the streets are still sleepy, the entire street is bustling with the sounds of vehicles and vendors calling out their wares. Nearly 1,000 meters of this crowded, bustling street still retains its original rustic charm. Buyers and sellers jostle each other, creating a lively atmosphere reminiscent of old rural markets.

Over the years, the merchandise at Hang Day Market has become increasingly diverse: ornamental plants, flowers, pet birds, ornamental fish, pets... Those with discerning tastes might spend an entire morning admiring a bonsai tree, a cage of nightingales, or a pair of bulbuls. Farmers still come here with bags of seeds, cages of livestock, and essential farming tools...

Many visitors stop at the antique and secondhand section – a place that preserves countless items bearing the marks of time, from oil lamps and old wooden tables and chairs to ancient coins, further enriching the market. It is this richness that has transformed Hang Market beyond mere commerce, becoming a cultural space, a place that preserves and passes on passion from generation to generation.

Sunday mornings at Hang Market are a harmonious blend of city and countryside. The sounds of vendors hawking their wares, car horns, and birds chirping in cages all combine to create a vibrant scene. Amidst this hustle and bustle, one feels as if they've found a quiet moment in their memory, reliving the atmosphere of a rural market from decades ago. This is what gives Hang Market its enduring appeal in the heart of the port city.

Amidst the hustle and bustle of modern life, things have changed to some extent. Many traditional markets are gradually disappearing under the pressure of supermarkets and shopping malls. But Hang Market still exists, still bustling every week, still a familiar "meeting place" for locals and tourists. This enduring connection proves that the need to return to simple, rustic roots has never disappeared.

Amidst countless changes, Hang Market remains, a witness, a peaceful haven easily found for anyone who visits. And every Sunday morning, before the sun rises, the bustling sounds of Hang Market echo along Hoang Minh Thao Street, like a gentle rhythm of time, softly captivating travelers.
