Highly regarded by provincial authorities and departments for its commitment to employee healthcare, Viet Thuan Transport Company Limited identifies employee health care as a continuous priority, especially for seafarers who frequently work long hours at sea. The company currently employs approximately 1,900 staff and workers, with over 1,400 working in arduous and hazardous environments. The company maintains its own medical station to provide medical examinations, treatment, and medication to employees; it also organizes regular health check-ups and occupational disease screenings for employees in high-risk positions. In 2025, Viet Thuan planned to conduct health check-ups for 1,440 employees with a total cost exceeding 1.44 billion VND. In the first few months of 2026, the company will continue to conduct health check-ups for 766 employees and administer 379 influenza vaccinations to its staff, costing over 126 million VND.
Ms. Pham Thi Doan Trang, Chairwoman of the Trade Union of Viet Thuan Transport Company Limited, said: “The unique characteristic of the waterway transport industry is that workers work far from home, and the working environment has many potential risks, so businesses must prioritize the health and safety of their employees. When employees are secure about their working conditions, health, and income, they will be committed to the company in the long term.”
Viet Thuan not only focuses on employee health but also prioritizes the material and spiritual well-being of its workers. By 2025, the average salary at the company is projected to reach 19.7 million VND per person per month. The trade union, in coordination with the company, organized sightseeing and vacation trips for over 145 employees with a budget of nearly 380 million VND; provided support to employees facing difficulties, those injured in accidents, or suffering from serious illnesses; and maintained sports and social activities to foster stronger bonds within the company.

Meanwhile, at Competition Team Technology (Vietnam) Co., Ltd. - CTTV (Dong Mai Industrial Park), the company focuses heavily on investing in technology, improving working conditions, and reducing work pressure for workers in the electronics manufacturing environment. CTTV currently employs 1,200 workers, mostly young people. In recent years, the company has continuously invested in modernizing its production lines and applying technology in occupational safety management and production operations.
In 2025, CTTV invested nearly 486 billion VND to upgrade 3 manual assembly lines to semi-automatic, reducing direct contact between workers and hazardous machinery in welding and heat pressing processes by approximately 40%. The company also installed 540 safety surveillance cameras in 5 production workshops; deployed a 24/7 workplace environmental monitoring sensor system; and launched the CTTV - Connect application, allowing workers to report safety hazards directly on their phones.
Alongside technological investments, the company continues to improve the income and living conditions of its employees. From the end of 2025, CTTV will increase the basic salary from VND 5.8 million to VND 6.2 million per month; raise performance allowances, provide housing support, and subsidize fuel costs. The average income currently reaches approximately VND 13.5 million per person per month. For about 5% of the workforce from other provinces, the company provides housing with beds, wardrobes, air conditioners, washing machines, and other essential living conditions to ensure employees can work with peace of mind. During this Workers' Month, the company also maintains many activities to care for the employees' well-being, such as the Workers' Sports Day with 620 participating athletes, giving gifts to disadvantaged workers, supporting the children of workers who excel in their studies, and organizing dialogues to listen to employees' suggestions.
The experiences at Viet Thuan and CTTV show that many private enterprises in the province are shifting strongly from a labor-employing mindset to one of partnering with employees. Proactively investing in health, working conditions, welfare, and technology not only helps businesses stabilize their workforce but also improves productivity, production efficiency, and builds a sustainable working environment.
