Over the past few days, in the Son Phong rice paddy area of Hoi An ward, the Ward Farmers' Association, in coordination with the Department of Economy - Infrastructure - Urban Planning, Lap An Consulting Company Limited, and the Phong Hoa Farmers' Association branch, conducted a field survey of the drainage canal system serving agricultural production. During the survey, the working group inspected the site, assessed the current condition of the canal bed, its drainage capacity, and noted many degraded areas that need repair, dredging, and upgrading in the near future.
The Farmers' Association of Hoi An ward also surveyed the road leading down to the rice fields to serve the needs of transportation of agricultural products and to promote the mechanization of production for the people.
Mr. Phan Quoc Huy, Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Hoi An Ward, said that strengthening coordination between specialized units, consulting businesses, and associations is crucial in caring for and supporting agricultural production for the people. The transfer of technology, support for plant varieties, and the development of product consumption linkage models are also being prioritized by the local authorities to improve farming efficiency for farmers in this year's summer-autumn crop.

In Dien Ban Tay commune, preparations for the summer-autumn crop are being carried out through the organization of training sessions on the "HT1 rice production model linked with product consumption and marketing" at the Dong Duc village cultural center.
According to Mr. Nguyen Van Hoai Bao, Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Dien Ban Tay commune, the model was implemented on an area of 10 hectares in the Bac Vien Chuong to Quy Tay rice fields with the participation of 55 households. The government supported 50% of the cost of seeds and fertilizers from the rice land support fund under Government Decree No. 112/2024/ND-CP, while the people contributed the remaining amount and all labor during the production process.
Ms. Le Thi Hong Phuoc, Deputy Director of the Dien Ban Tay Commune Public Service Supply Center, said that during the implementation of the model, households were guided on cultivation techniques for the HT1 rice variety suitable for the summer-autumn crop season. Simultaneously, participating households planted their rice on May 24th to ensure uniformity and adherence to the local planting schedule. All harvested rice from the model will be purchased by Dien Ban Agricultural Seed Joint Stock Company under a guaranteed market agreement.

In Phuoc Nang commune, preparations for input materials for the summer-autumn crop are also being carried out urgently. Mr. Le Van Thanh, Deputy Director of the Center for Supplying Public Service in the commune, informed that this year the locality plans to sow 231 hectares of rice. Based on the opinions of the village committee and rice-farming households, the locality has unanimously chosen the QB19 rice variety for production.
The Phuoc Nang Commune Public Service Center is responsible for checking the origin, type, and quality of the seeds; the Commune Economic Department supervises the process to ensure that the support is provided for the right purpose and to the right recipients; and the village heads directly verify the lists and carefully check the packaging and labels before acceptance. Immediately after the acceptance process is complete, the rice seeds are transported to the community centers of the 10 villages for direct distribution to the people, ensuring that sowing is done according to the seasonal schedule.
