President Laporta: 'This is a very successful season for Barca'

Barca president Joan Laporta could not hide his joy after his team were officially crowned La Liga champions. The president highlighted the team's impressive performance throughout the season and affirmed that this was a completely deserved title.

“We are extremely happy. This season has once again confirmed the historical position of the team. In the face of the difficulties we have faced, I would like to thank the players, who have played wonderfully. And also to acknowledge the great work of Mr. Deco in building this squad.”

The Barca president also gave special praise to coach Hansi Flick: “We have full confidence in him. And Flick has proven his ability: a professional, serious, disciplined person but with a special sensitivity in the way he treats the players. He is a demanding person, but always knows the limits of that demand.”

Mr. Laporta also did not hesitate to praise the prodigy Lamine Yamal: "Yamal is a genius. He belongs to a class of his own."

Despite being eliminated in the Champions League semi-finals after a painful defeat to Inter Milan, Barca has won all three domestic titles this season (Super Cup, King's Cup, and La Liga).
