In front of representatives of workers, laborers, and disadvantaged households in Thu Duc City, President Vo Van Thuong shared that Ho Chi Minh City is a major economic , cultural, educational, scientific, and technological center of the country, and a hub for international exchange. Since the early years of the renovation period, Ho Chi Minh City has initiated movements and social security programs to care for disadvantaged circumstances in the locality and surrounding areas, remote and isolated areas. "Perhaps that is why Ho Chi Minh City is known as a city of affection, a city of love, a city where the difficulties in the lives of workers, students, and laborers are always taken care of and jointly resolved by Party committees at all levels, the government, the Fatherland Front, and organizations," the President expressed. The Head of State also pointed out that Ho Chi Minh City has a very good tradition of leaders from the city to each locality coming to workers and students on holidays and occasions before Tet with the spirit of "when happy, sad, difficult times come more". This year, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor coordinated with the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and organizations to organize the program Tet Sum Vay - Xuan Tri Gratitude to visit, encourage, and give gifts to workers, employees, and people in difficult circumstances across the country. President Vo Van Thuong also acknowledged that this year, the country in general and Ho Chi Minh City in particular have faced many difficulties. The whole country has made great efforts to maintain stable growth, ensure social security, and care for the poor and those in difficult circumstances. This has been very much directed by the Party and the State and actively implemented by relevant organizations. According to the Thu Duc City Labor Federation, nearly 40 enterprises with about 2,000 employees do not have Tet bonuses, many enterprises only give bonuses of 300,000-400,000 VND. The President commented that in such difficulties, with the launch of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, the General Confederation of Labor, the Tet Sum Vay - Xuan Yeu Thuong program is an action of joining hands with authorities at all levels to take care of Tet for workers and laborers with the spirit of striving so that every family has Tet and Tet gifts. However, the leaders of Ho Chi Minh City, Thu Duc City and districts have joined hands and contributed to take care so that everyone can have joy," the President shared. Sending a message to workers and laborers on the occasion of December 23, the President wished each person and each family to renovate and clean their houses, let go of old things and temporarily forget worries and concerns, open their hearts to think about better things in the future and be ready to try, make efforts and welcome the Lunar New Year 2024 with good expectations.
