
At the meeting, President Luong Cuong expressed his pleasure to meet again with Lao General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith shortly after his recent State visit to Laos; and sincerely thanked General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith for attending the inauguration ceremony of Vung Ang Port Wharf No. 3 and the 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification, demonstrating the special close relationship and solidarity between Vietnam and Laos.
President Luong Cuong affirmed that the victory on April 30, 1975 was a glorious historical event full of pride for the Vietnamese people; emphasizing that this was a victory of patriotism, revolutionary spirit, resilience and aspiration for freedom and independence.
On behalf of the Party, State and people of Vietnam, President Luong Cuong expressed his deep gratitude to Laos for always standing side by side, sharing the good times and the bad, and wholeheartedly supporting the Party, State and people of Vietnam in the past struggle for independence as well as in the cause of protecting and building the country today.
The President congratulated and highly appreciated the achievements Laos has made in recent times and expressed his belief that under the leadership and direction of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, headed by Comrade Thongloun Sisoulith, Laos will continue to gain even greater new achievements, successfully implement the Resolution of the 11th National Congress, and successfully organize the 12th National Party Congress.

Regarding the inauguration and putting into use of Wharf No. 3, Vung Ang Port, President Luong Cuong affirmed that this is an important political and foreign affairs event, a vivid symbol of the rare loyal and pure relationship between Vietnam and Laos, demonstrating the determination of both sides in connecting and promoting development cooperation between the two countries.
The President believes that Terminal No. 3 - Vung Ang Port will meet the increasing demand for transportation and cargo transportation of the two countries, serve well the transportation of transit goods and trade cooperation with Laos, thereby contributing to the development and economic integration of each country.
On his part, Lao General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith warmly congratulated and affirmed that the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification is of extremely important significance to the Party, State and people of Vietnam.
General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith affirmed that the Victory on April 30, 1975 was a typical victory of the world's revolutionary forces, contributing to promoting the just struggles of the people of the world. This was a glorious victory of the Vietnamese people and of the three countries of Vietnam - Laos - Cambodia, admired and respected by the whole world and peace-loving friends; emphasizing the role of the Communist Party of Vietnam in leading the Vietnamese people to many great victories, of which the historic Spring Victory in 1975 was a brilliant milestone of the Vietnamese people.
General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith congratulated Vietnam on the important and historically significant comprehensive results achieved after 50 years of the liberation of the South and national reunification; expressing his belief that the Party, State and people of Vietnam will certainly gain even greater achievements, firmly entering a new era of national development.
The General Secretary and President of Laos affirmed that the Vung Ang Port No. 3 Port Project is a symbol of Vietnam-Laos friendship in the new era; a project that contributes to the strong implementation of the strategy of "turning Laos from a landlocked country into a connected country"; a model of strategic cooperation, with special significance in politics, economics, defense and security. The completion of this important cooperation project is the result of a long period of effort, determination and close cooperation of both sides.
The General Secretary and President sincerely thanked Vietnam for always giving Laos the highest priority, demonstrated through its wholehearted support and assistance during the resistance war against the common enemy as well as in the cause of protecting and building the country today.
On this occasion, the two leaders expressed their determination to effectively implement high-level agreements between Vietnam and Laos, including the results of the recent State visit to Laos by President Luong Cuong, in order to further develop the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos in the new situation.
