At the meeting, Major General Phan Van Xung informed about the results of the 9th session of the 15th National Assembly and the activities of the Ho Chi Minh City National Assembly Delegation at the session. Accordingly, after 35 days of working with a spirit of innovation, responsibility and high determination, on the basis of urgent and thorough preparation and scientific and effective program arrangement, the 9th session of the 15th National Assembly has completed all the contents of the proposed program.
The National Assembly considered and approved the Resolution amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Constitution of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; passed 34 laws and 13 legal resolutions, and gave opinions on 6 other draft laws. At the same time, it considered and decided on the arrangement of provincial-level administrative units, shortening the term of the 15th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 term, deciding on the election date of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term, establishing the National Election Council; and considered and decided on organizational and personnel work within its authority.
The National Assembly considers and decides on socio-economic, financial, state budget issues, investment policies for important projects; conducts questioning and answers; considers reports on synthesizing voters' and people's petitions, reports on the results of monitoring the settlement of voters' petitions, and a number of other important issues...
At this session, the National Assembly deputies of the Ho Chi Minh City delegation participated in the agenda with a high sense of responsibility; actively spoke in discussions in groups and halls, participated in questioning with many frank and enthusiastic opinions, contributing to the National Assembly and the Government in building policies and solutions for socio-economic development and law making.
During the session, the Ho Chi Minh City National Assembly Delegation had more than 184 delegates participating in discussions on socio-economics, budget and law-making with 694 opinions and recommendations; of which, 140 delegates participated in discussions in groups with 509 opinions and recommendations; 44 delegates participated in discussions in the hall with 185 opinions and recommendations. In addition, 3 National Assembly delegates directly questioned in the hall; 1 delegate debated in the questioning session and 4 National Assembly delegates conducted written questions.
During the discussion and contribution of contents on socio-economics, budget, and law-making, the National Assembly Deputies and the Ho Chi Minh City National Assembly Delegation all tried to fully convey the thoughts and aspirations of the city's voters to the National Assembly.
At the 9th session, 97 groups of opinions and recommendations from voters in Ho Chi Minh City were recorded by the National Assembly Standing Committee and proposed to the Government and central authorities for consideration and resolution. At the same time, during the discussion and contribution of contents on socio-economics, budget, and law-making, the National Assembly Deputies and the Ho Chi Minh City National Assembly Delegation all tried to fully convey the thoughts and aspirations of voters in the city to the National Assembly.
