President receives leading Chinese technology and telecommunications corporations

On the afternoon of October 19, in Beijing (China), President Vo Van Thuong received Mr. Luong Hoa, Chairman of Huawei Group and Chairman of the Board of Directors of ZTE Group Li Tu Xue.

At the meeting, President Vo Van Thuong emphasized that the digital transformation and digital economy in the world are developing very quickly. Along with the world trend, Vietnam attaches great importance to these contents and focuses on investing in digital transformation and building a digital economy.

Vietnam calls for cooperation from all parties, from the government to the private sector, domestic and foreign investors to participate in building digital infrastructure, digital human resources and digital institutions.

On the positive development of Vietnam-China relations, the President said that Vietnam welcomes and hopes that more and more enterprises with economic potential and high development level will come to cooperate and invest in Vietnam, including Huawei .

President Vo Van Thuong highly appreciated the results that Huawei has achieved in the process of investing in Vietnam.

The Head of State hopes that Huawei will continue to cooperate more actively and effectively with Vietnamese authorities and enterprises to build digital infrastructure, develop 5G , broadband, and especially coordinate to train digital human resources.

Expressing his gratitude to President Vo Van Thuong for taking the time to meet him, Huawei Group Chairman Luong Hoa affirmed that Huawei is ready to actively contribute to supporting the enhancement of Vietnam's digital competitiveness.

Along with that, the group wishes to contribute more to the development of Vietnam's digital economy, digital society and energy transition, as well as help Vietnam integrate advances in science and technology into the development of agriculture and manufacturing industry.

Huawei is currently cooperating with a number of universities to train talents and is ready to cooperate with Vietnam in training digital human resources.

Mr. Luong Hoa also affirmed that Huawei will continue to contribute values to the economic and social development of Vietnam. In the coming time, Huawei will increase investment to help Vietnam digitally transform towards multi-industry, diversity and balanced development.

Receiving the leader of ZTE, President Vo Van Thuong reiterated his speech at the Third Belt and Road Initiative Forum, emphasizing the call for national-level cooperation between governments and enterprises in building digital institutions, digital infrastructure and digital human resources.

In that spirit, President Vo Van Thuong said that Vietnam hopes that Chinese enterprises, especially large enterprises with high and modern science and technology, will invest and expand their investment in Vietnam, bringing modern and efficient technology and production lines to Vietnam.

President Vo Van Thuong highly appreciated Chinese investors investing in Vietnam. Notably, in the first 9 months of 2023, China became the second largest investor in Vietnam for the first time with a total registered capital of 2.9 billion USD.

The President believes that ZTE will have closer and more effective cooperation with businesses in Vietnam in the future, thereby contributing to the overall development of the Vietnam - China cooperative relationship.

ZTE Corporation Chairman Ly Tu Hoc thanked relevant Vietnamese agencies for supporting ZTE in its investment, production and business activities in Vietnam over the past years.

ZTE, founded in 1985, is a large enterprise providing 5G equipment in China and building and deploying 5G technology application models.

With extensive experience in network development, system architecture, and application software design, ZTE wishes to contribute to the construction of digital infrastructure , strongly supporting the economic development process in Vietnam.
