President of the Moroccan House of Representatives Rachid Talbi Alami recalled his visit to Vietnam to attend the Francophone Parliamentary Union Executive Committee Meeting in Can Tho in January 2025; and sent greetings from King Mohammed VI of Morocco to National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and senior leaders of Vietnam.
Congratulating Vietnam on its impressive socio -economic development achievements and emphasizing the importance of Vietnam in Morocco's foreign policy, Speaker of the House of Representatives Rachid Talbi Alami expressed his belief that the visit of National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man will open a new phase in cooperation between the two parliamentary bodies, contributing to promoting bilateral relations in priority areas such as agriculture, renewable energy, climate change, phosphates, electric vehicles, textiles, electronic components, tourism, etc.

With the hope that the two countries will continue to build mutually beneficial relations and be gateways and bridges for each other in accessing each region's market, the President of the Moroccan House of Representatives supports the study of negotiating a new trade agreement as well as the possibility of upgrading the cooperation framework; consolidating and effectively implementing bilateral cooperation mechanisms such as the Intergovernmental Committee; studying the possibility of establishing a joint mechanism with the participation of the National Assembly, ministries and businesses of the two countries.
For his part, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man expressed his impression of Morocco's historical and cultural traditions, role and strategic position in North Africa; respectfully sent the greetings of General Secretary To Lam, President Luong Cuong and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to King Mohammed VI, the leaders and people of Morocco.
National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man recalled the historical relationship between Vietnam and Morocco that was built during the difficult days of Vietnam's struggle for national independence, as evidenced by the Moroccan soldiers' side-by-side support of the former Viet Minh Front and the iconic structures today such as the Morocco Gate in Ba Vi and the Vietnam Gate in Morocco.

Assessing the remarkable achievements in the relationship between the Vietnamese National Assembly and the Moroccan House of Representatives through the effective implementation of the Cooperation Agreement between the two National Assemblies in 2017, delegation exchanges, meetings, seminars and talks held regularly, as well as the effective activities of the Friendship Parliamentary Groups in each country's National Assembly and close cooperation at multilateral parliamentary forums, the National Assembly Chairman expressed his wish to continue strengthening the existing relationship, promoting mutual understanding and connection between parliamentarians of the two countries, creating momentum to expand bilateral cooperation in all fields, for the benefit of development and prosperity of the two peoples.
National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man assessed that the Vietnam-Morocco economic cooperation has made significant progress, as in the first 5 months of this year alone, two-way trade turnover recorded impressive growth of more than 320 million USD, exceeding that of the whole year of 2024, showing that the two countries still have a lot of potential to better exploit each other's markets. The National Assembly Chairman suggested that the two sides continue to increase the sharing of market information; coordinate to promote free and sustainable trade initiatives within multilateral frameworks; connect businesses; study the possibility of joint production and export cooperation to third markets, especially those where each side enjoys incentives from free trade agreements (FTAs); consider negotiating and signing new trade agreements suitable to the current development context; promote cooperation in strategic industries such as agricultural processing, fertilizer production, renewable energy, etc.
National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and Moroccan House of Representatives President Rachid Talbi Alami signed a cooperation agreement between the two countries' parliaments.
The two leaders agreed to continue strengthening political trust through increasing delegation exchanges at all levels and channels; direct contact between ministries, sectors and businesses of the two countries; and strengthening multilateral cooperation, especially within the framework of the United Nations and inter-regional cooperation.
The two sides discussed regional and international issues of mutual concern, agreeing to promote the settlement of disputes by peaceful means, not using or threatening to use force on the basis of respect for international law and the United Nations Charter.
On this occasion, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man respectfully invited Moroccan House of Representatives Speaker Rachid Talbi Alami to visit Vietnam soon. The Moroccan House of Representatives Speaker happily accepted the invitation.
