National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man received the Youth Delegation of the Liberal Democratic Party of Japan

(Chinhphu.vn) - On the afternoon of August 21, at the National Assembly House, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man received a delegation of the Youth Committee of the Liberal Democratic Party of Japan (LDP) led by Head of the Committee Nakasone Yasutaka on a visit and work in Vietnam.

Welcoming and appreciating the delegation's visit to Vietnam, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man said that this is a special visit after the two countries upgraded their relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for peace and prosperity in Asia and the world.

Congratulating Mr. Nakasone Yasutaka on being elected as Head of the LDP Youth Committee, the National Assembly Chairman emphasized that, along with the visit to Vietnam of the President of the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Alliance, Ms. Yuko Obuchi (from August 7-9, 2025), this visit by key parliamentarians of the LDP Youth Committee, along with a large number of parliamentarians from localities in Japan, will contribute to promoting Vietnam-Japan relations, as well as parliamentary and youth exchanges between the two countries.

Head of the LDP Youth Committee Nakasone Yasutaka respectfully thanked National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man for taking the time to receive him; expressed his joy at visiting Vietnam on the occasion of the important event of the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and Vietnam's National Day (September 2); and congratulated Vietnam on its socio-economic development achievements in recent times under the guidance and leadership of senior leaders, including National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man.

Mr. Nakasone Yasutaka highly appreciated the activities of the Vietnamese National Assembly, especially in the field of legislation. The 9th session was the session with the largest volume of legislative content ever when the National Assembly passed 34 laws and many resolutions, including a very important resolution on amending and supplementing a number of articles of the 2013 Constitution.

Emphasizing that the Vietnam - Japan relationship has been carefully cultivated by generations of leaders of the two countries, Head of the Committee Nakasone Yasutaka affirmed that he will continue to work with the youth of the two countries to promote the relationship in depth and effectively.

Mr. Nakasone Yasutaka also hopes that the two sides will strengthen cooperation in the fields of infrastructure construction, national defense - security, tourism, labor; cooperation on channels not only at the central level but also at the local level, and people-to-people exchange.

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man highly appreciated the practical and effective exchanges and collaboration between the LDP Youth Committee and the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, as well as the young parliamentarians of the two countries in recent times. The delegation also had a successful meeting with the Group of Young National Assembly Deputies of Vietnam. The National Assembly Chairman said that these activities will contribute to building and consolidating trust between the young generations of leaders of the two countries; he believed that with the talent, dynamism and creativity of the youth, the parliamentarians will continue to make active contributions to promoting the Vietnam - Japan Comprehensive Strategic Partnership to develop more and more strongly.

The National Assembly Chairman hopes that after this visit to Vietnam, more parliamentarians will join the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Alliance; many local parliamentarians will participate, advocate and support the establishment of the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Alliance at local People's Councils; emphasizing that this will be a bridge to support and promote relations between the two countries.

Appreciating the effective and substantive cooperation between the Vietnamese National Assembly and the Japanese Parliament, the National Assembly Chairman pointed out that exchanges between high-level delegations, committees, parliamentarians and friendship parliamentarian groups have been maintained with rich content and diverse forms, contributing practically to promoting the implementation of agreements between the two countries' senior leaders.

Agreeing with the proposal of LDP Youth Committee Head Nakasone Yasutaka, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man said that Vietnam and Japan need to continue promoting cooperation in economics, trade, investment and cooperation in new fields such as science and technology as well as green transformation and digital transformation.

Emphasizing that local cooperation, people-to-people exchange, cultural and educational cooperation play an important role in consolidating the solid social foundation of bilateral relations, the National Assembly Chairman suggested that both sides continue to pay attention to promoting cooperation in these areas.

The National Assembly Chairman also asked Japan to continue supporting policies to increase and expand the reception of Vietnamese workers to Japan as well as support the improvement of the quality of life, working conditions and social security for the Vietnamese community living, studying and working in Japan.

On this occasion, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man invited the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the President of the House of Councilors of Japan to visit Vietnam in the near future.
