
On the morning of November 26, comrade Le Ngoc Chau, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Committee visited and worked with enterprises of LG Group in Hai Phong.
Also attending were comrade Le Trung Kien, member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee, Head of the Hai Phong Economic Zone Management Board; leaders of relevant departments, branches and sectors.
Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Ngoc Chau highly appreciated the modern facilities, advanced management processes and especially the application of world- leading technologies at LG Group's enterprises in Hai Phong. He congratulated the production and business results that LG enterprises have achieved in recent times.

On behalf of the city's leaders, Comrade Le Ngoc Chau respectfully acknowledged and thanked LG Group for its contributions to the city's overall development. Hai Phong is currently one of the leading localities in the country in attracting foreign direct investment (FDI), with 1,740 valid projects and a total registered capital of more than 50 billion USD.
After merging the boundaries and having the National Assembly approve special mechanisms, the city possesses many outstanding advantages: A synchronous traffic infrastructure system with all 5 types; the capacity to train high-quality human resources from universities, colleges and vocational establishments and large-scale industrial land and infrastructure funds.

In the coming period, Hai Phong aims to become a modern industrial seaport city, a logistics center, high-quality tourism and clean energy; prioritizing the development of high-tech industry, green transformation, innovation, semiconductor, AI, robotics, renewable energy and new materials. The city focuses on investing in transport and seaport infrastructure and building Hai Phong into an international center for education, training and marine science and technology.
At the meeting, representatives of enterprises belonging to LG Group (LG Display, LG Electronics, LG Innotek) reported on production and business results in 2025, plans for the following years, investment expansion progress and ongoing projects.
Enterprises proposed a number of issues that require the city's coordination, such as energy infrastructure issues, especially the need to use clean energy; tariff policies related to production and export activities, and a number of issues arising during project operations.
In addition, to meet the demand for human resources in the production expansion period, businesses suggested that the city continue to pay attention to policies to attract and train workers, as well as support in developing social housing and social security conditions for workers.
Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Ngoc Chau highly agreed with the development strategy of LG Group's enterprises in Hai Phong. He requested LG Display to soon deploy the remaining capital in the previous commitment of 5 billion USD, at the same time research to expand production and attract more satellite enterprises and suppliers in the production chain to invest in Hai Phong.
The city has prepared a sufficient amount of clean land in industrial parks, especially Trang Due 3 Industrial Park, and is committed to ensuring the most favorable conditions for procedures and support throughout the implementation process. The city also encourages the group's enterprises to study and expand investment in the Free Trade Zone.

The Chairman of the City People's Committee hopes that businesses will participate more deeply in building smart urban solutions and digital transformation to serve local governance and socio-economic development. LG Group is considering establishing a Research and Development Center in Hai Phong, directly linked to production activities.
Hai Phong commits to providing the highest incentives according to regulations, including tax incentives and financial support from the Investment Support Fund, to create conditions for the formation of a large-scale Research and Development Center, aiming to turn Hai Phong into one of the group's high-tech "bases".
Regarding supply chain development, the Chairman of the City People's Committee suggested that LG expand opportunities for Vietnamese enterprises, especially Hai Phong enterprises, to participate more deeply in the group's supply chain, thereby increasing the localization rate and promoting local supporting industries. He suggested that LG Display pay attention to completing the dormitory area for workers, while enterprises in the group continue to support workers in accessing social housing, contributing to ensuring stable and long-term living conditions.

Regarding the recommendations of enterprises, the Chairman of the City People's Committee assigned relevant departments and branches to establish a working group to coordinate and resolve in the fastest way, promptly removing any problems arising during the implementation process. The City continues to accompany LG Group, supporting to create the most favorable conditions in the spirit of "harmonious benefits, shared risks", considering LG's success as its own success.
In recent times, LG Group's enterprises have continued to affirm their role as the largest FDI investor and the main growth driver of Hai Phong with a total accumulated investment capital of more than 10.65 billion USD; export turnover in 2024 reaching 17 billion USD (accounting for more than 50% of the city's total export turnover); budget contribution of 1,790 billion VND and average income of 16.7 million VND/person/month for nearly 27,000 workers.
During their operations, the enterprises have always strictly complied with legal regulations; actively participated in social security activities of the city such as donating 6 billion VND to overcome the consequences of typhoon Yagi, awarding scholarships to students, building solidarity houses; at the same time, promoting cooperation in training high-quality human resources with universities in the area...
