Community consultation - tissue culture banana cultivation using high technology

Attending the conference were Mr. Nguyen Viet Thu, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Kia Commune; Mr. Nguyen Duy Chinh, Deputy General Director of Phu Rieng Rubber One Member Co., Ltd.; together with leaders and experts of the Economic Department, village chiefs and households directly affected by the project.

Overview of the community consultation conference

The high-tech tissue culture banana planting project is a modern agricultural development trend, focusing on the application of advanced techniques to improve productivity, quality and value of banana products. The project is owned by Phu Rieng Rubber One Member Co., Ltd.; has a scale of 331.69 hectares; expected output is 12,384 tons of fresh bananas/year.

At the conference, experts assessed the potential for developing tissue culture banana models in the area, shared practical experiences and new technologies, and proposed four consultation contents: implementation location, environmental impact of investment projects, measures to handle negative impacts on the environment, and management and monitoring programs.

The conference received 5 comments from stakeholders to build an effective and sustainable production model suitable to soil and market conditions.

Also at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Viet Thu, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Kia Commune, highly appreciated the project of Phu Rieng Rubber One Member Co., Ltd. At the same time, he emphasized that the high-tech tissue culture banana planting project will contribute to increasing product value, creating job opportunities for farmers, promoting rural economic development and moving towards building a modern and sustainable agriculture in the commune.

Concluding the conference, Mr. Nguyen Duy Chinh, Deputy General Director of Phu Rieng Rubber One Member Co., Ltd. acknowledged the close attention of the local government and accepted the practical contributions of the delegates, while committing to comply with the State's regulations on environmental protection and continue to complete the project to submit to the competent authority for approval.
