The Alliance to support the promotion of training, research and provision of high-quality human resources for the semiconductor industry (referred to as the Semiconductor Alliance) initiated by Hanoi National University was established with the goal of promoting training, research and development of high-quality human resources for the semiconductor industry, in line with the spirit of Resolution 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science, technology and innovation development and Decision No. 1017/QD-TTg on the program "Developing human resources for the semiconductor industry to 2030, with a vision to 2050".
Phase 1 of the Alliance brings together more than 20 domestic and international units, including major Vietnamese universities such as Hanoi National University, Ho Chi Minh City National University,FPT University, Cryptography Engineering Academy, etc.; prestigious international universities such as Sungkyunkwan University (Korea), Kumamoto University (Japan), HSE University (Russia); and large enterprises in the semiconductor chain such as Viettel, FPT, Nisso, MRIV International... This diverse participation shows the scale and great expectations placed on the development of Vietnam's semiconductor industry in the next decade.

Launch of the Alliance to support the promotion of training, research and provision of high-quality human resources for the semiconductor industry
According to the cooperation content, the participating parties will connect the network of educational institutions - research institutes - domestic and foreign enterprises, share laboratories and facilities, support training of source lecturers, promote technology transfer and commercialization of research products, as well as participate in policy consulting for the Government in developing the semiconductor ecosystem.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Nguyen Vinh Quang, Director of FPT Semiconductor, FPT Corporation, said that the Vietnamese semiconductor industry currently has two major gaps that hinder its development speed. The first gap lies in the fragmented cooperation between universities and businesses. The second gap is the lack of connection between domestic businesses, as each unit is following its own "path", not forming a cooperative ecosystem like the model of the leading countries. He emphasized that the establishment of the Alliance is a necessary condition to create real connections, helping all parties to seize opportunities together.

Mr. Nguyen Vinh Quang, Director of FPT Semiconductor, FPT Corporation shared at the event
Mr. Nguyen Vinh Quang believes that with the Government's support, the spirit of cooperation between businesses and training institutions through the Semiconductor Alliance, Vietnam has the basis to gradually master important stages in the semiconductor value chain and become a strategic destination in the global semiconductor industry in the near future.
FPT affirms its long-term commitment to accompany universities and research institutes in training human resources and developing semiconductor technology. Currently, FPT, the Institute of Semiconductors & Advanced Materials (Hanoi National University) and E3 Lab under the University of Technology (Hanoi National University) are promoting the establishment of an Innovation Center to develop training programs and bring experiences related to the real working environment for students and young engineers. In addition, the Group has opened the Vietnam Semiconductor Incubation and Development Center (VSIC) - in cooperation with the National Innovation Center and partners to create an environment for training high-quality human resources and promoting startups in the semiconductor field.
FPT also built a comprehensive training ecosystem, from the bachelor's program in microchip design at FPT University, the specialized college program at FPT Polytechnic to the international BTEC joint program. FPT also expanded cooperation with leading technical schools in Asia such as Asia University (Taiwan) and Gachon University (Korea) - the first university in Korea specializing in semiconductor training - implementing the "2+2" joint model, allowing students to study two years in Vietnam and two years at an international campus, thereby receiving a semiconductor engineering degree according to global standards. These activities are the foundation for FPT to realize the goal of training 10,000 semiconductor engineers by 2030, thereby contributing to the goal of training 50,000 semiconductor engineers in Vietnam.
To participate in the semiconductor technology game, FPT has nurtured the "Vietnamese chip dream" for more than 10 years. The milestone marking a strong transformation to affirm FPT's position in the semiconductor industry was in 2022, when FPT officially established FPT Semiconductor. After three years of establishment, FPT Semiconductor has successfully researched and developed PMIC and Power IC power chip lines designed 100% by Vietnamese engineers and exported to the most demanding markets such as Japan and Korea.
In the next phase, FPT aims to develop MCU chips, AI-on-Edge SoCs, IoT chips and Automotive chips, to gradually build a “Make in Vietnam” semiconductor product ecosystem. In parallel with IC design, FPT also participates more deeply in high-value stages in the supply chain, such as chip packaging and testing.
