At the Riverside Road project, from Provincial Road 338 to Dong Trieu, according to the investor's report, after more than 2 years of construction, up to now, 12/13 bridges in the project have completed the main structure. Currently, contractors are focusing on handling the approach road to the bridge. Particularly, Song Uong Bridge connecting Uong Bi with Quang Yen, due to complex geology, muddy soil interspersed with many layers of caster caves, the handling work takes a long time. Up to now, Song Uong Bridge has completed bored pile construction, poured concrete for 18/24 piers, is implementing the construction of 2/4 cantilever piers, installing 2/16 span girders, and casting Super T girders reaching 30/80 girder slabs. As for the road items, the contractor is currently focusing on handling weak ground by replacing soil and adding loads, and installing wicks at the roadbed items.
However, during the construction process, the project encountered many difficulties, especially in road construction packages, which affected the overall progress, slowing down the completion plan in 2025.
Specifically, there are still 16.4 hectares of undelivered land on the route, the supply of sand on the market is scarce, and the price has increased dramatically in the recent short period (an average increase of 50% -100%). Along with that, the supply of K95 and K98 earth materials is not enough to meet the construction progress. Currently, the project is exploiting soil at 2 quarries that are qualified to exploit and supply K95 and K98 soil, namely Bac Son and Tay Son. However, the supply capacity of the current quarries is only less than 50% of the actual demand. With these difficulties, it is estimated that the progress may be nearly 1 year behind schedule.
At the riverside road project phase 1, from Dam Nha Mac intersection to provincial road 338, contractors have completed the main structure of the Chanh River and Rut River bridges, completed excavation of weak soil, filling with fine-grained sand, filling with medium-grained sand and installing wicks for a nearly 2km section. The project is currently in the stage of treating weak soil, filling with K95 soil, adding load, and waiting for settlement.
In this project, the construction site, sand material source and material price continue to be the main difficulties. There are still 26 households on the route that have not completed land clearance.
After directly inspecting the construction organization, reviewing the overall progress and listening to the investor and contractors' reports, comrade Pham Duc An, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, encouraged and highly appreciated the efforts of the investors and contractors.
He emphasized: The key traffic works are strategic infrastructure projects, contributing to the continued synchronization and formation of a modern connecting traffic infrastructure system, and are highlight works, with outstanding architectural and urban aesthetic values of the locality. The works have extremely important positions and roles in the socio -economic development of the province and the region, receiving the attention of the people and the Central Government...
Therefore, investors and contractors need to continue to coordinate synchronously with localities and related units to focus on resolving difficulties, ensuring progress according to plan, including actively expanding and searching for suitable sources of raw materials, expanding the supply of soil and sand for the project. He noted that it is necessary to promote the role of local leaders in effectively implementing site clearance work, creating favorable conditions for contractors to organize construction to ensure progress and the set plan.
Contractors need to pay special attention to technical, aesthetic and labor safety factors; speed up the construction of intersections, connecting roads, access roads, trees, lighting systems, etc. to create a harmonious, synchronous combination, closely linked with the works and projects that have been and are being implemented in the area.
