On December 20, Politburo member, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Hanoi City Bui Thi Minh Hoai signed Decision No. 7896-QD/TU to complete the Steering Committee of Program No. 04-CTr/TU of the City Party Committee on "Promoting the effective implementation of the National Target Program on new rural construction associated with restructuring the agricultural sector and developing the rural economy, improving the material and spiritual life of farmers in the period 2021-2025".

Accordingly, the Standing Committee of the Hanoi Party Committee decided to appoint comrade Tran Sy Thanh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Committee as Head of the Steering Committee of Program No. 04-CTr/TU of the 17th City Party Committee on "Promoting the effective implementation of the National Target Program on new rural construction associated with restructuring the agricultural sector and developing the rural economy , improving the material and spiritual life of farmers in the period 2021-2025" (replacing comrade Nguyen Thi Tuyen who has transferred to another job).

Program No. 04-CTr/TU of the City Party Committee for the 2021-2025 period has three main goals: Building a more practical, effective and sustainable new rural area associated with the urbanization process; restructuring the agricultural sector and developing the rural economy; improving the material and spiritual life of farmers.

Currently, Hanoi has 18/18 districts and towns meeting new rural standards, of which 2 districts meet advanced new rural standards: Thanh Tri and Gia Lam.
