Focus on activities that contribute to deepening the relationship and cooperation between Vietnam and the Russian Federation

NDO - On the morning of October 16, at the Presidential Palace, during a reception for Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Viktorovich Volodin, who is on an official visit to Vietnam (from October 15-16) and co-chairing the 2nd Session of the Vietnam - Russia Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Committee, President Vo Van Thuong affirmed: Vietnam always attaches importance to the traditional friendship with the Russian Federation; always remembers the wholehearted support and assistance that the people of the former Soviet Union gave to Vietnam in the past struggle for national independence and in the current process of national construction and development.

Also attending the reception was Head of the Office of the President Le Khanh Hai. President Vo Van Thuong welcomed Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Viktorovich Volodin and the delegation of the State Duma of the Russian Federation to visit Vietnam to attend the second session of the Vietnam-Russia Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Committee and had a successful meeting with Chairman of the Vietnamese National Assembly Vuong Dinh Hue. The President believes that the visit will create a strong driving force for bilateral cooperation, including cooperation between the two National Assemblies, thereby contributing significantly to deepening the Vietnam-Russia relationship.

Stating that the majority of Vietnamese people have many good feelings towards the country and people of the Russian Federation, President Vo Van Thuong said that he always keeps many beautiful and profound memories of the country and people of the Russian Federation during his previous working trip. At the reception, the Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation respectfully sent the greetings of Russian President Vladimir Putin to President Vo Van Thuong; at the same time, he affirmed that the Russian Federation not only considers Vietnam a strategic partner but also a strategic friend.

Previous generations of leaders of the two countries have laid a solid and important foundation for the Russia-Vietnam relationship and today we need to find new forms for the two countries' cooperation to develop further in many different fields.... Summarizing the recent socio -economic development of the Russian Federation, the Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation expressed his joy at the progress in the cooperation between Vietnam and the Russian Federation in recent times; hoping that the relationship and cooperation in many fields will continue to develop more strongly and deeply in the coming time.

Thanking the Russian President Vladimir Putin for his greetings, President Vo Van Thuong affirmed that Vietnam's success in the struggle for national reunification and its achievements in national construction and defense today are thanks to the great support of the Russian Federation in all aspects. Many generations of cadres, scientists, intellectuals, etc. have studied and trained in the former Soviet Union and the current Russian Federation. In the context of many difficulties and challenges, the Vietnam-Russian Federation relationship and cooperation have still achieved practical and concrete results.

To further strengthen bilateral relations, President Vo Van Thuong suggested that the two sides continue to maintain and increase the exchange of high-level delegations at all levels; actively promote economic, trade and investment cooperation; restore and develop people-to-people exchanges and tourism activities after the Covid-19 pandemic.... At the meeting, President Vo Van Thuong thanked the Russian Federation, including the Russian Parliament, for supporting the Vietnamese community to live, study and work stably in Russia and hoped that the Russian Parliament, in its role as a legislative body, would support policies to create more favorable conditions for Vietnamese people to settle, work and work in Russia.
