FinSpark 2025 Final: Closing the journey of nurturing young fintech talent

After more than 4 months of launching and implementing, the FinSpark competition has attracted nearly 300 contestants from many universities across the country, going through rigorous selection rounds, interviews, intensive training and practical experience at businesses to select the 7 best teams to enter the final round. In the final night, 35 students - the most typical "warriors" of FinSpark this year - competed together, bringing presentations full of courage, creativity and fintech style.

FinSpark - Unlesh your inner maverick is the first fintech talent development program held in Vietnam with the largest scale and awards ever, co-organized by the Banking Academy in collaboration with F88 - the leading affordable financial chain in the alternative finance sector in Vietnam, with the support and sponsorship of prestigious commercial banks, insurance and telecommunications companies in the country. The goal of the competition is to create a large-scale playground to find and nurture talented young people in the fintech field. The program not only brings open opportunities for students in the technology - finance sector, but also pioneers in unleashing and nurturing the innovative startup capacity and breakthrough creative thinking of Digital Mavericks for the next generation - thereby contributing to promoting the development of the Vietnamese fintech ecosystem.

Attending the final night were Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thanh Phuong - Deputy Director of Banking Academy, Head of the Advisory Board for Startup Support and Innovation of Banking Academy, along with representatives of units under the Academy, lecturers, members of the Startup Advisory Board and representatives of student clubs. On the business side, the program was honored to welcome Mr. Nguyen Cong Niem - Deputy General Director in charge of strategy of F88 Company, Mr. Pham Tran Long - Deputy General Director in charge of operations of F88 Company, Ms. Dang Vu Hong Hoa - Director of Partner Development of CIMB Bank Vietnam, representative of Bao Minh Trang An Company, Mr. Bach Ngoc An - Deputy General Director in charge of technology of OPES Insurance Company, Ms. Dang Thi Diu - Deputy Director of PVI Ha Thanh, Mr. Nguyen Dang Thang - Director of VNPT Digital Finance Center and many representatives of organizations, businesses, sponsors and media agencies.

Speaking at the event, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thanh Phuong congratulated the contestants for overcoming the challenging journey to participate in the final night, and highly appreciated the comprehensive maturity of the teams. He also expressed his gratitude to the sponsors, partners and experts who have accompanied and supported the students on their journey to become future fintech talents.

Representative of the co-organizer, Mr. Nguyen Cong Niem - Deputy General Director in charge of strategy of F88 Company - said that " FinSpark 2025 is not only a competition but also an opportunity for young people to gain practical experience. Candidates not only try their hand at professional challenges but also get to 'fight' in businesses, experience the real working environment and understand technology - finance problems in the context of a volatile market."

At the final night, 07 teams brought creative and highly applicable topics, solving many practical problems of businesses. InFINcible team introduced the project "Phuc Bat AI - Financial Treasure" with the expectation of building a smart financial personalization solution. Sixdigits team presented the Sysdigit system - a solution to help the F88 sales team convert from the traditional sales model to the Digital Salesperson model. Snow White team developed a voice-based insurance purchasing application for OPES businesses. FinNova team introduced Vbee - a Mobile Money application for financial education for children. Lowtechies team presented a travel insurance business solution on the Mytour platform. 5 Sheep team proposed expanding the "Buy Now Pay Later" service on the MBBank banking application. The Fintastic team aims to help freelancers and small businesses access finance more easily using AI and big data technology, while optimizing investment activities with low risk. Each project is a unique perspective on the market, clearly demonstrating the students' hard work in research, analytical ability and creative entrepreneurial spirit.

After a dramatic competition with the topic Sysdigit - a solution to convert traditional sales models to Digital Salesperson for F88, the Sixdigits team, including students from the Banking Academy and Foreign Trade University, won the FinSpark 2025 championship. The FinNova team won the second prize, and the 5 Sheep team won the third prize. The program also honored the teams with breakthrough ideas and impressive presentations. Besides the exciting competition atmosphere, the final night was also an opportunity for the organizers and the audience to look back on the FinSpark journey - a journey of knowledge, inspiration, maturity and connection. The sparks of passion for the field of financial technology have been ignited, spread and will certainly continue to burn brightly in the future.
