At the end of the session on April 23, the VN-Index closed at 1,211 points, up 13.8 points, equivalent to 1.16%.

Following the upward trend of US stocks, the demand for stocks participating from the beginning of the session on April 23 helped Vietnamese stocks open up more than 18 points. In the morning session, a series of stocks were covered in green across the board.

However, entering the afternoon session, the general index gradually narrowed its increase range due to profit-taking pressure and weakened demand.

At the end of the session, the VN-Index closed at 1,211 points, up 13.8 points, equivalent to 1.16%.

The group of 30 large stocks (VN30) had 23 codes increasing in price, notably: VRE (+6.6%), BCM (+5.8%), SAB (+4.3%), TCB (+3.8%), GVR (+3.8%)... On the contrary, only 5 codes decreased in price, including: SSB (-3.6%), SHB (-1.5%), STB (-1.1%), VCB (-0.9%), VIC (-0.7%).

With the market’s recovery efforts, green spread across many stock groups. Industrial park stocks recorded a fairly good recovery. In addition, steel, food, retail, etc. groups traded actively, contributing to the market’s increase.

According to Dragon Capital Securities Company (VDSC), liquidity on April 23 decreased compared to the previous session, indicating that supply has cooled down. Cash flow is still able to support the market in the next trading session. If this momentum is maintained, stock prices may continue to recover.

However, VCBS Securities Company said the market is showing differentiation, as many groups of stocks only increased slightly compared to the 4%-7% increase of some large stocks in the VN30 group and other individual stocks.

"Investors should limit chasing stocks that have increased sharply and are at resistance levels, and look for opportunities in stocks with stable price bases to open positions in the next session. Some notable industry groups include retail, public investment, fertilizers and chemicals" - VCBS Securities Company recommends.
