According to Nguyen Thi My Vinh, Chairwoman of the Women's Union of Dong Ha Ward, supporting women's access to digital platforms is an urgent requirement in the context of rapidly developing digital technology . “In the urban area of Dong Ha Ward, the majority of women members are involved in small-scale trading and business. Without quickly adopting digital transformation, it will be difficult to adapt to current shopping demands. Therefore, the Union has identified digital transformation not only as a task within its work but also as a solution to help women improve production and business efficiency and increase income,” Ms. Nguyen Thi My Vinh shared.

In implementing Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024, of the Politburo on breakthroughs in the development of science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation, the Women's Union of Dong Ha Ward has proactively developed many specific plans to enhance digital awareness and skills for its female members.

In 2025 and the first few months of 2026, the association organized 63 propaganda sessions on the "Digital Literacy Movement" with nearly 2,960 members participating; organized 2 training courses on information technology application and digital transformation for 180 female cadres and members; and simultaneously disseminated information on online safety, guided the installation of VNeID, and the use of online public services and electronic payments.

To date, 100% of association officials have been equipped with digital knowledge and skills to serve their work; 45% of women members have been accessed and guided in basic digital skills. All 32 branches maintain active Zalo and Facebook groups to connect members, implement tasks, and disseminate the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's laws and regulations.

One of the highlights is the Women's Union of Dong Ha ward's implementation of the "digital market" model. This model aims to support small traders in applying digital technology to their business activities, such as cashless payments, using QR codes, promoting products on online platforms, and accessing e-commerce.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi My Vinh, the "digital market" model not only helps small traders improve their business efficiency but also contributes to building a civilized and modern commercial environment. "We hope that through this model, small traders will boldly change their business mindset, gradually embrace the digital economy , and meet the increasingly modern shopping needs of the people," Ms. Vinh stated.

Following the implementation, many small business owners proactively used smartphones to promote their products, receive online orders, process bank transfers, and reach customers through social media.

Ms. Tran Thi Huong, a small business owner at Market Branch 1 of Dong Ha Market, said that previously, trading was mainly done using traditional methods, depending on the number of customers coming directly to the market. However, after being guided on using digital technology, business operations have undergone many positive changes. “Initially, I was quite worried because I wasn't used to using smartphones to sell goods. But after being guided on creating QR codes, posting products on Zalo and Facebook, and using bank transfer payments, business has become much easier. Customers find it convenient to pay without cash, and we small business owners can manage our revenue more easily,” Ms. Huong shared.

According to Ms. Tran Thi Huong, the application of digital technology also helps small traders expand their customer base beyond traditional markets. Many regular customers can simply view product images on social media to place orders and make payments, helping to stabilize their businesses.

Beyond supporting businesses, the "digital marketplace" model also helps raise awareness among small traders about cybersecurity and preventing high-tech fraud in electronic payments. Training sessions organized in collaboration with the association have equipped small traders with additional knowledge to ensure safety in transactions.

The association also actively supports women in accessing loans for economic development, with a total outstanding loan balance of over 116 billion VND through 37 loan groups, creating conditions for thousands of members to stabilize their lives and develop production and business.

According to Nguyen Thi My Vinh, Chairwoman of the Women's Union of Dong Ha Ward, in the coming time, the union will continue to expand digital transformation models associated with production and business activities; strengthen digital skills training for members, especially small traders and older women; and promote cashless payments and the application of technology in union activities.

With a proactive and creative spirit, and with the support of the women's association, women in Dong Ha ward are gradually adapting to the digital economy, contributing to building a more civilized, modern, and sustainably developed locality.
