International experts come to Hue to guide modern orthopedic trauma techniques

The 21st Annual Scientific Conference of the Vietnam Orthopedic Association (VOA 2024), with the participation of many international experts, came to Thua Thien - Hue to update new trends in orthopedic trauma.

The 21st Annual Scientific Conference of the Vietnam Orthopedic Association (VOA 2024) opened on the afternoon of October 25 in Hue City (Thua Thien - Hue). The conference was organized by the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University, bringing together more than 600 delegates, with more than 150 scientific reports from domestic and foreign experts.

In particular, international experts coming to Hue to attend the conference will guide and provide in-depth training to medical staff on new techniques in orthopedic trauma, helping patients improve their function and quality of life.

With the theme "New trends in orthopedic trauma in the early 21st century", the conference took place over 2 days, October 25 and 26, with specialized reporting sessions and in-depth workshops updating new knowledge, new techniques, exchanging experiences and seeking research cooperation opportunities for domestic and international doctors, surgeons and medical staff.

Participating in this conference were many leading international experts in the field of orthopedic trauma from countries such as the US, France, Israel, Korea, China, India, Singapore, Thailand...

In particular, the conference had Professor Kevin C. Chung from the United States. He is the former President of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand and is currently the editor of many prestigious journals in the field of orthopedic trauma and hand surgery.

At the conference, experts also introduced many outstanding achievements in the field of orthopedic trauma in Vietnam and the world such as: Application of artificial intelligence (AI) in diagnosis and treatment, application of 3D printing technology and Navigation system in surgery or application of new biological materials.

In addition to the conference, within the framework of the event, continuing medical education (CME) courses were also held to provide in-depth knowledge on arthroscopic shoulder surgery (instructed by Dr. Bernard Lee Chee Siang, Gleneagles Hospital, Singapore); hand wrist surgery instructed by Professor Kevin C. Chung; diagnosis and treatment of intertrochanteric femoral fractures instructed by Associate Professor - Dr. Le Nghi Thanh Nhan, Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy.

Through VOA 2024, the Vietnam Orthopedic Association continues to affirm its pioneering role in improving professional qualifications and international cooperation, bringing modern and effective medical solutions to patients in Vietnam.

This year's conference is not only an important event in the field of orthopedics in Vietnam, but also marks a new step in the process of international integration and application of advanced medical technologies.
