Weapons expert: Crossbow appeared since Hung Vuong period

From research, engineer Vu Dinh Thanh, technical expert, representative of NPO ALMAZ Russia, affirmed that the crossbow appeared since the Hung King period. This is clearly shown in the Hung King Genealogy.

Engineer Vu Dinh Thanh, technical expert, representative of NPO ALMAZ Russia, which produces the world's best air defense missile systems such as S300, S500, S1000, said that the Co Loa bronze arrow is exactly like the flechette arrow of the French Air Force in World War 1. According to verified results, in World War 1, a flechette from a height of 18m could penetrate a human skull, and a helmet from 56m. Thus, the Co Loa bronze arrow (exactly like the flechette arrow), if shot from Phja Da Cao Bang mountain, 2000m high, would definitely "pierce" 10 Qin invaders. This is exactly as the Chinese historian Viet Kieu Thu wrote: "Au Lac in the Qin Dynasty was very strong, very good at using crossbows, one bronze arrow could kill more than a dozen people. Trieu Da was very afraid".

The Hung King's Crossbow: The Most Effective Way to Shoot Arrows in the World?

Talking to Knowledge and Life , engineer Vu Dinh Thanh said that at the first National History Conference, when he presented about the magic crossbow, he received great attention from experts and researchers. Professor Dr. Vo Van Sen, chairman of the conference, expressed his appreciation and acknowledged that the magic crossbow was real, killing thousands of soldiers at once. A university lecturer asked: How do we know that the magic crossbow shoots tiny Co Loa bronze arrows without needing to install an arrow shaft? Where did the ancient Vietnamese get the technology that is still very difficult to understand for many people today? At that time, engineer Thanh did not answer because there was a suspicion that the Hung King period had made the magic crossbow.

Engineer Thanh shared that he had been pondering this question for a long time and recently, when he accidentally read the Hung Vuong Genealogy, he had the answer. The Hung Vuong Genealogy wrote: “Thuc Vuong was originally the head of Ai Lao, also the lineage of the previous emperor. Now the country is not in a normal state, it is also predestined. Does the king have any special love for a southern land that he would go against the will of heaven and harm the living beings? Moreover, Your Majesty and I have magical powers, there is nothing better than returning to Bong Ho, Lang Uyen, living in the countryside forever, leisurely in the phoenix pavilion and dragon pavilion, not being contaminated by the dust of the world, gold, jade and pearls are not worth a single hair, fairies and fairies are only pleasing to the eye for a moment. Such intelligence is truly high!

King Tuyen thought it was right and immediately sent a letter to give the country to King Thuc. King Tuyen took the opportunity to give King Thuc a magic crossbow, then returned to Nghia Linh mountain with Tan Vien Son Tinh to transform into the realm of immortality.

"I find the information from the Hung Vuong Genealogy that Hung Vuong gave the magic crossbow to An Duong Vuong extremely logical and also what I have long suspected," said engineer Thanh.

Engineer Thanh said that 5 years ago, when he started to learn about the " Hung Vuong crossbow ", he received enthusiastic help from Dr. Hoai Anh, an officer of the history museum in charge of antiques.

Dr. Hoai Anh had engineer Thanh examine the original Co Loa bronze arrows that archaeologists found along with the bronze molds. From here, engineer Thanh saw an unbelievable secret, that is, those arrows were completely different from other types of arrows, with a structure of gradually smaller wings in a certain direction to create a rotation effect around the axis. This made the Co Loa bronze arrows completely similar to the Flechette flying arrows of the French air force 2,200 years later, dropped from airplanes and hot air balloons from 18m to destroy infantry and cavalry.

Also in this session, engineer Vu Dinh Thanh was thoroughly introduced to the Ngoc Lu bronze drum with the information that, after 2500 years until now, no Vietnamese person has been able to cast a bronze drum that sounds like the Ngoc Lu bronze drum. The shape may be similar, but the sound is not.

Carefully observing the archers on the Ngoc Lu bronze drum with the aim of studying arrows from the Van Lang period, engineer Thanh realized that the archers on the bronze drum shot arrows with two completely different types of arrowheads: a regular double-sided arrowhead and a diamond-shaped arrowhead whose cross-section was the Co Loa bronze arrowhead.

From the beginning, engineer Thanh thought that the Co Loa bronze arrows did not need to be attached to the shaft but could be shot as is. If shot from above, it would have a very strong effect because of the gradual acceleration and rotation around the axis. However, on the bronze drum there is an image of an archer shooting a Co Loa bronze arrow with a bow, meaning that the Co Loa bronze arrow must be attached to the shaft.

Upon further careful observation, engineer Thanh noticed an unusual but technically logical thing, which was the archer stepping on a string. “It turned out that the string held the shaft of the arrow so that the Co Loa bronze arrow could fly. The bronze arrow was accelerated when the shaft was cut off, so it would have a much greater velocity than normal. Only the arrowhead, like the bullet tip, would fly, so it would be lighter and thus fly farther, faster, and more dangerous. This way of shooting an arrow is the most effective in the world because it concentrates a lot of energy into a small arrow,” engineer Vu Dinh Thanh analyzed.

According to engineer Vu Dinh Thanh, the Co Loa bronze arrow is identical to the flechette arrow of the French air force in World War 1. According to the results verified in World War 1, the flechette from a height of 18m penetrated a human skull, and 56m penetrated an iron helmet. Thus, the Co Loa bronze arrow (identical to the flechette arrow), if shot from Phja Da mountain, Cao Bang, 2,000m high, would definitely pierce the apples of 10 enemies. This is exactly as the Chinese history book Viet Kieu Thu wrote: "Au Lac in the Qin Dynasty was very strong, very good at using crossbows, one bronze arrow could kill more than ten people. Trieu Da was very afraid".

Based on the image of the archer on the Ngoc Lu bronze drum with the string holding the shaft of the arrow, engineer Thanh understood that when the magic crossbow shot ten thousand arrows, if the quiver was held as in the image on the Ngoc Lu bronze drum, ten thousand arrows would fly far. This was what made him ask the question, could it be that the Magic Crossbow had appeared since the Hung King period? And the answer was found in the Hung King Genealogy.

Trieu Da never occupied Co Loa citadel?

Also from the assertions about the "Hung King's crossbow", engineer Vu Dinh Thanh came to the question: Did Trieu Da never occupy Co Loa citadel, meaning he never occupied Au Lac? According to engineer Vu Dinh Thanh, many evidences show that the Trieu Dynasty did not have the technology to shoot the tiny Co Loa bronze arrows that are clearly engraved on bronze drums and archaeologists have found Co Loa bronze arrows all over Vietnam. The Trieu Dynasty did not know about the magic crossbow technology that could simultaneously shoot tens of thousands of Co Loa bronze arrows and kill tens of thousands of soldiers, and the most important evidence is the system of furnaces for casting Co Loa bronze arrows that was recently discovered in the Co Loa citadel in 2007.

“If Trieu Da had captured Co Loa, the first thing he would have done would be to control the super crossbow weapon that could kill ten thousand soldiers at once, he would have to know how to shoot Co Loa bronze arrows that could kill ten enemies with one shot, and he would have to find the system of bronze arrow casting furnaces in Co Loa citadel. However, historical records and all archaeological evidence of the Trieu dynasty's tombs do not show any trace of the Trieu dynasty using extremely advanced technology, stronger than rifle bullets of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, or 2,200 years later. Trieu Da did not have the technology that the Chinese history book Viet Kieu Thu clearly recorded: “Au Lac in the Qin Dynasty was very strong, and had the ability to use crossbows very well, one bronze arrow could kill more than ten people. Trieu Da was very scared,” said engineer Vu Dinh Thanh.

Engineer Thanh has reconstructed the extremely powerful way of shooting Co Loa bronze arrows as shown on the Ngoc Lu bronze drum, and has reconstructed the "Hung Vuong divine crossbow" that simultaneously shot ten thousand Co Loa bronze arrows killing ten thousand soldiers. According to him, these are important technical bases for historians to review the entire history of the period of Chinese domination.

Engineer Thanh believes that during the Van Lang - Au Lac period, the Vietnamese had a type of bow that could shoot Co Loa bronze arrows that were stronger than bronze bullets from rifles in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, so that nation would not be easily bullied. Not to mention the extremely powerful crossbow that could shoot tens of thousands of arrows at the same time like today's artillery shells.

The technology of using bows to shoot Co Loa bronze arrows is very complicated because the arrows can only fly far and strong at a single point. If you don't know, the bronze arrows will not separate from the shaft and cannot fly. The same goes for the "Hung Vuong Divine Crossbow". To separate ten thousand arrows from the quiver and have the greatest speed, you must understand the technology as well as the bows to shoot Co Loa bronze arrows. There is only one point for the bunch of arrows to fly out of the quiver, which is something that Chinese scientists did not know 3 years ago when trying to restore the divine crossbow (broadcast on China Central Television CCTV9 / CNTV and youtube), so the bunch of arrows cannot fly out of the crossbow.

“That proves that China knows nothing about the special technologies of the ancient Vietnamese. This is also the basis for me to raise the question: Trieu Da did not necessarily occupy Au Lac and a thousand years of Chinese domination is not necessarily true,” said engineer Vu Dinh Thanh. According to engineer Thanh, the weapon of Thanh Giong is completely real. This has been verified by Senior Lieutenant General, Academician, Doctor, Hero of the People's Armed Forces Nguyen Huy Hieu and he agrees with him. Accordingly, Thanh Giong is a statue of a child placed on an elephant in an iron horse-shaped armor, using the strength of a tiger to hit an iron stick, pulling up bamboo bushes to kill enemies and using bamboo flowers to create fire from the iron horse... These descriptions match the weapons that have been found and recorded in history. A nation with such an extremely developed military industry level is certainly very difficult to conquer.
