Hanoi FC appointed Mr. Dinh The Nam as head coach to replace Le Duc Tuan today, one day after losing 3-5 to Hai Phong in round 2 of V-League.
Mr. Nam was the Director of the Hanoi Youth Football Training Center before being appointed as the Head Coach. He has never coached in the V-League but has experience leading Vietnamese youth teams, reaching the quarterfinals of the U16 Asia in 2016, winning the U23 Southeast Asia Championship in 2022...
"I was very surprised to receive the decision from the team's leadership," he said. "This is both an opportunity and a challenge for me. I will try my best to help the team perform well in the next match."

This is the second time Hanoi FC has changed coaches this season. On October 7, they fired coach Bozidar Bandovic after two heavy losses to Pohang Steelers and Urawa Red Diamonds in the AFC Champions League. Assistant coach Le Duc Tuan was promoted to interim coach.
Mr. Tuan debuted in the 1-2 loss to Wuhan Three Town in the AFC Champions League, playing with one less player from the 4th minute due to a red card for striker Joel Tagueu. Yesterday, he and his students played the first match of the 2023-2024 V-League season against Hai Phong at Hang Day Stadium on October 29. The home team led 2-1 after the first half, but after a power outage, the second half had to be postponed for 40 minutes, allowing the opponent to come back to win 5-3. This loss prompted the Hanoi leadership to decide to change the coach.
Coach Dinh The Nam will have a promising debut match on November 3, playing the capital derby with defending champion Cong An Ha Noi.
