Recently, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thanh Hoa province sent a document to the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requesting the transfer of management of Thanh Hoa Club to Thanh Hoa Football Federation.

According to the content of the submission, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism will direct the Thanh Hoa Football Federation to temporarily take over, manage and operate the club. This agency is also responsible for coordinating with relevant units to maintain the team's training and competition activities in the V.League 2025-2026, and at the same time advise the Provincial People's Committee to invite qualified organizations and enterprises to take over the club in accordance with the provisions of the Professional Football Regulations. For issues beyond its authority, the Department will report to the Provincial People's Committee for consideration and decision.

This move was made after the Thanh Hoa Provincial Police Investigation Agency searched the workplace and private residence of Mr. Cao Tien Doan - Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Director of Dong A Company, and also Chairman of Thanh Hoa Club on the evening of August 28. Mr. Doan was determined to have violated accounting regulations causing serious consequences, according to Article 221 of the 2015 Penal Code. The search lasted until after 11:00 p.m. the same day.

The change of Thanh Hoa FC's management agency comes amid a difficult start to the 2025/26 V.League. Under the leadership of coach Choi Won-kwon, the team has only won 1 point after 3 rounds, with 1 draw and 2 losses, ranking last in the rankings.
