The forum was attended by over 500 delegates, including leaders from ministries, departments, localities, and businesses from Vietnam and South Korea. This is an extremely important event, providing a good opportunity for leaders and businesses from both countries to share and discuss key objectives in promoting bilateral investment and trade relations.
2024 marks the best year yet for Vietnam-Korea relations. South Korea ranks number one in direct investment, number two in development and tourism cooperation, and number three in labor and trade cooperation. Notably, South Korea is currently the largest foreign direct investment (FDI) partner with US$87 billion in registered capital as of April, accounting for 18.25% of total FDI into Vietnam. Bilateral trade turnover in 2023 reached US$76.1 billion. In the first four months of 2024, exports between the two countries reached US$25.5 billion, a 4% increase compared to the same period in 2023. Furthermore, bilateral cooperation between Vietnam and South Korea is continuously being strengthened and expanded in many fields, including: urban transport infrastructure, healthcare, education and training, environment; clean energy, information technology, etc.
Speaking at the forum, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that, after more than three decades of establishing diplomatic relations, the relationship between the two countries has never been better than it is today. The friendly, trustworthy, and substantive cooperation between Vietnam and South Korea is developing very well based on shared values and strategic interests.

The signing ceremony for the cooperation agreement took place within the framework of the Vietnam-Korea Business Forum held in Seoul (South Korea) on July 1st.
