Last September, the Provincial Women's Union organized training and communication to improve gender equality knowledge for more than 1,300 people at Project 8 command points. In each commune, communication sessions focused on preventing child abuse, identifying forms of gender violence, and equipping women and children with skills to prevent and protect themselves - especially ethnic minority women and children.
Recent data and incidents of violence and child abuse in the province, such as cases of child seduction via social networks or cases of minors being forced into early marriage, are analyzed specifically to help people understand the level of danger and increasingly sophisticated tricks of violators.

Ms. H Lan Ayun (Ea Nuol commune) shared: "Many women were previously shy about talking about gender-based violence, but after being trained, they became bolder, knew how to identify risks and seek timely support."
In the context of digital transformation taking place in all fields, the need to ensure gender equality and safety for women and children becomes more urgent. Cyberspace opens up opportunities for access to knowledge, jobs, and online business, but at the same time, it also contains many potential risks such as online abuse, cyber violence, fraud, and increasingly sophisticated gender discrimination.

Based on that reality, community media groups in localities have also organized many training sessions for women to use social networks safely, identify bad and toxic information, protect personal data, and avoid online fraud. Ms. H Phữn Je, Head of the Women's Association, Deputy Head of the Community Media Group of Yang Lah 2 village (Đắk Liêm commune) commented: "Digital skills are an important shield to protect women and children. When fully equipped with knowledge, they not only protect themselves but also support their relatives, contributing to creating a safer community in the online environment."
In parallel, the Union at all levels also deployed communication through competitions, performances, and dramatizations, with skits vividly reflecting the situation of domestic violence, gender inequality, and good cultural values that need to be preserved. These forms help the message spread easily, creating a great influence on women in ethnic minority areas.
Not only focusing on communication and raising awareness, the Provincial Women's Union also proactively advised the Party Committee, coordinated with the government and sectors to implement many long-term solutions to improve the status of women. Notable programs include dialogue programs between the Provincial Party Standing Committee, leaders of the Provincial People's Committee and female cadres; seminars to increase the proportion of female cadres participating in leadership and management; classes to eradicate illiteracy and prevent re-illiteracy for women in remote areas; propaganda activities to prevent school violence and gender-based violence, etc.

Project 8 “Implementing gender equality and solving urgent issues for women and children” chaired by the Provincial Women’s Union has also created a strong influence in the community. Many gender prejudices, gender stereotypes and harmful cultural practices have been gradually eliminated; people’s awareness of the role and value of women, especially ethnic minority women, has been significantly raised. The number of women who are victims of violence who boldly denounce and seek support has also increased significantly.
In the context of rapid digital technology development, the Association also actively supports women in accessing digital platforms to serve economic development. In some localities, women are instructed to use smartphones to manage expenses, sell agricultural products on e-commerce platforms, or promote traditional handicraft products via social networks. Thanks to that, many women have connected to sell products via Facebook, Tik Tok or put products on e-commerce platforms to increase revenue and create more jobs for local female workers.

The application of digital technology is also integrated into many activities. Many women's associations have deployed Zalo groups to connect members, share knowledge about health care, law and job information. Some localities have piloted the model of "Women transforming digitally" with instructions on using online public services, installing electronic identification, helping women, especially older women and ethnic minority women, to access digital utilities more easily.
Ms. Kim Thoa Adrông, Permanent Vice President of the Provincial Women's Union, commented: "The synchronous programs and solutions of the Union at all levels in recent times have all aimed at expanding development opportunities for women, contributing to creating a safe and equal living environment, promoting the sustainable development of women and children in the digital age."
