Make Hanoi not only a stopover, but also a destination for each tourist to stay longer to continue their emotional journey. And the first touch point on that journey is the tourism product.
This mindset of the capital's tourism industry leaders has affirmed the way Hanoi is striving to transform itself from a traditional destination to a destination with depth and creativity. In particular, in the last six months of the year, the local smokeless industry will make its mark with many outstanding activities.
Opportunity to "breakthrough" from new product series
Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Tourism, Mr. Tran Trung Hieu said that Hanoi is promoting the development of new products, expanding experience spaces, and accelerating communications to welcome a large influx of visitors on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day, September 2.
In the past six months, international visitors to Hanoi reached 3.66 million (up 21.8%); domestic visitors are estimated at 11.9 million. Total revenue from tourism reached more than 62,000 billion VND (up nearly 15%). Notably, Hanoi has been continuously honored on the world tourism map as: Top 3 most popular destinations globally (voted by TripAdvisor), Top 25 favorite destinations of all time, Top 11 most attractive cities in the world (Time Out Magazine).
To accelerate, the leaders of the capital's tourism industry announced a series of new tourism products, combining the depth of heritage with modern experiences, a different direction that the locality is pioneering.

Among them, the group of 20 outstanding night tourism products includes: the program recreating the spiritual and cultural space at night "Tran Vu Bell" at Quan Thanh Temple; two routes "Nam Thang Long Heritage Road" and "Dao Hoc Road" (launched in August) will take visitors through a series of relics, pagodas, ancient villages associated with the history of education and culture of Thang Long-Hanoi...
In addition, with the expectation of creating “check-in” spots with a strong Hanoi identity, the tourism industry has deployed creative spaces such as “Truc Bach Subsidized Street - Tram Car No. 6 - Leng keng di huong,” or experiencing the Dao people's traditional medicine village in Mien village (Ba Vi).
Maximizing the advantages of transportation to create a connecting tourism corridor, a series of river tourism routes such as the Red River and the Duong River have been planned to connect Hanoi with Hung Yen, Nam Dinh, Bac Ninh, and Hai Duong; high-quality night trains have also been put into operation such as: Sjourney, Hoa Phuong Do (Hanoi - Hai Phong culinary tour), "Nam Cua O" train departing from August 19...
“We are expanding the experience route to suburban districts such as Ba Vi, My Duc, Soc Son, and further connecting the capital region. That is the way to help tourists coming to Hanoi stay longer and spend more,” Mr. Tran Trung Hieu emphasized.
Not only breaking through with products, the "door" to develop Hanoi tourism is having a wide opening opportunity thanks to new institutions and planning from the implementation of the Law on the Capital (amended) to form specific cultural and tourist spaces such as cultural and commercial centers, creative centers, night streets, and expanded walking routes.

Promotion through festivals
A representative of the Hanoi Tourism Promotion Information Center said that in 2025, in order to increase its appeal to domestic and international tourists, Hanoi will step up promotion through a series of festivals and highlight events with high experiential value.
Accordingly, the Hanoi Beverage Festival 2025 will take place from August 29 to September 2 at Thong Nhat Park, providing a space to enjoy typical drinks such as egg coffee, lotus tea, traditional tea, along with performances by professional bartenders, contributing to promoting the culinary and beverage quintessence of the capital.
The 3rd Hanoi Autumn Festival is scheduled to take place from October 3-5 at Tran Nhan Tong walking street, Thong Nhat park and other prominent destinations, with street art performances, autumn cuisine, photo tours and heritage space experiences.
In November, the Ao Dai Tourism Festival was held at Son Tay Citadel, the Food Festival - Craft Village Tourism at Trinh Cong Son walking street, with performances, parades, exhibitions, and tour introductions related to craft villages, agriculture, and ecology. This is also a group of sustainable tourism products that Hanoi is strongly developing.
Notably, in addition to domestic activities, Hanoi is also present at major events such as Osaka Expo (Japan), ITB India (Mumbai) and IFTM Top Resa (Paris) to promote destinations, connect businesses and expand the international tourist market.

In addition, to welcome long-term visitors, Hanoi has restructured its tourism route system more scientifically: international routes (connected by air, rail and intermodal road); national routes (connected via national highways 1, 2, 3, 5, 6 and 32); and inner-city routes (including city tours, West Lake - Co Loa route, craft village tours, waterways, urban railways and beltway 4).
Re-planning the development space instead of dividing it according to administrative boundaries like this not only helps increase flexibility when building new tours and routes, but also helps reduce pressure on the central area, expanding experiences to the suburbs and inter-regions.
In addition, digital transformation continues to be promoted. Hanoi is digitizing data on the entire system of destinations and service facilities, aiming to synchronize with the national tourism data system…/.
According to statistics from the Hanoi Department of Tourism, in June 2025, the capital welcomed about 2.79 million visitors, an increase of 15.9% over the same period last year. Of which, international visitors reached nearly 500,000, an increase of 21.4%, and domestic visitors were approximately 2.3 million. Total revenue from tourism reached VND 10,350 billion, an increase of 17.2%.
In the first 6 months of 2025, Hanoi is estimated to welcome 15.56 million visitors, an increase of 11.8% over the same period in 2024. The number of international visitors alone reached 3.66 million, an impressive growth of 22%. Total tourism revenue is estimated at more than 62,300 billion VND.
