Mother's love
In a class of 12 disabled children at Huong Duong Viet InclusiveEducation Center (Quang Phu Ward, Da Nang City), teacher Tran Thi Thuy Hang (born in 1991) is teaching the children with all her heart.
Nearly 10 years ago, when her second child was born, teacher Hang painfully realized that her child could not see and had no cognitive ability. Her third child is also visually impaired.
Not giving up, the mother devoted all her efforts and all the money the family had to treat her children - children affected by Agent Orange-dioxin. To take care of her children, teacher Hang could not go to work, the cost of treatment for her children was expensive, the family fell into exhaustion...
Recalling that difficult time, teacher Hang shared: "Many times I felt helpless even though I tried my best. However, relatives, neighbors, even people who had never met me sympathized, shared, and supported me.
Everyone's love has given me the strength to continue living and trying for my child. I decided to return to my hometown and study special education, first of all to gain knowledge to treat my child, and at the same time help other disabled children have a better chance at life."
Mr. Dang Ngoc Duy, founder of Huong Duong Viet Inclusive Education Center, said that in nearly 3 years of teaching at the Center, teacher Hang always left early and came home late, wholeheartedly teaching her special "children".

Perhaps the empathy and understanding of a mother’s strength has instilled in her the perseverance and dedication to take care of her students. The center also creates the best conditions for teachers and children to come here to teach and learn, and have the opportunity to integrate into the community early.
Giving "ticket" to development for deaf children
There is no sound of students reading, no conversation, only sign language, but the Vietnamese class of teacher Nguyen Thi Lanh (born in 1994) is always full of hope and bright smiles.
As a deaf person, teacher Lanh is inspiring deaf children to believe that they can still talk to each other in their own language and live a good, kind life.
Currently a teaching assistant at the Quang Nam Center for Support and Inclusive Education for Deaf Children (Dien Ban Dong Ward, Da Nang City), Ms. Lanh said: "After a chance meeting with Ms. Maire McCann, I felt like I was given a ticket to enter the door to personal development.
Ms. Tran Thi Thuy Hang is dedicated to teaching children at Huong Duong Viet Center.
For the first time, I felt confident and proud of myself when I fulfilled my dream of standing on the podium. And now I am happy to give other tickets to deaf children like me."
For children with disabilities, dreaming and realizing their dreams is very difficult. Therefore, the teachers at this Center not only teach them the language to communicate and exchange but also help them have a solid foundation and a suitable job to support themselves.
Sharing about teacher Lanh, Ms. Maire MCCann, founder of the Support and Inclusive Education Center for Deaf Children in Quang Nam, expressed her pride and gratitude: "Lan is also a deaf person. When we first met, she was very self-conscious, felt inferior and thought she was lonely because she could not hear or communicate.
But she seized the opportunity, kept trying, and showed her ability. And with empathy, patience, and love, Lanh and the excellent team of teachers and teaching assistants here have been changing their fates along with those of deaf children."
In that special class, the bright smiles of the children who volunteered to answer in sign language shone. And after the teacher and students' class, there was also the trust and support of the parents, accompanying their children in every step of their progress.
