Stocks break out, VN-Index hits 1,680 points

On August 28, the Vietnamese stock market continued to increase. Although liquidity decreased sharply, major stock groups such as securities and banking still increased positively, pulling the VN-Index gradually towards the old peak. At the end of the session, the VN-Index increased by 8.08 points to 1,680.86 points.

Market liquidity continued to remain low, with total trading volume on the three exchanges reaching more than 1,352 million shares, equivalent to a total trading value of more than VND37,643 billion.

Foreign investors continued to sell strongly on all 3 exchanges, with a net value of more than VND 2,682 billion, focusing on HPG (VND 591.13 billion), MSB (VND 421.69 billion), MBB (VND 318.99 billion), STB (VND 212.53 billion), SSI (VND 206.57 billion)...

On the contrary, the stocks with the most net purchases in this session included GMD (135.73 billion VND), SHS (79.85 billion VND), GEX (68.21 billion VND), VND (64.55 billion VND), TCB (58.66 billion VND)...

On the HoSE floor, the matched order value this session reached more than 31,933 billion VND.

In this session, the codes that contributed positively to the VN-Index increased by more than 7.87 points include: VPB, TCB, SSI, MWG, LPB,SHB , HPG, CTG, VIX, BSR.

On the contrary, the codes that negatively affected the VN-Index by more than 3.72 points included: VIC, BID, STB, MBB, FPT, VCB, VIB, MSB,ACB , SBT.

* At the Hanoi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index closed at 276.63 points, up 0.25 points (+0.09%). Liquidity reached a total of more than 101.73 million shares transferred, with a corresponding trading value of more than VND2,309.9 billion. In the whole market, 82 stocks increased in price, 50 stocks remained unchanged and 76 stocks decreased in price.

The HNX30 Index closed up 0.42 points (+0.07%) to 610.66 points. Trading volume reached over 66.41 million units, equivalent to over VND1,867.77 billion. In the whole market, there were 11 stocks increasing in price, 5 stocks remaining unchanged and 14 stocks decreasing in price.

On the UPCoM market, the UPCoM-Index closed at 110.62 points, up 0.68 points (+0.62%). Market liquidity, total trading volume reached more than 60.06 million shares, corresponding trading value reached more than 910.78 billion VND. In the whole market, there were 161 stocks increasing in price, 80 stocks remaining unchanged and 98 stocks decreasing in price.

* At the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange, the VN-Index closed up 8.08 points (+0.48%), to 1,680.86 points. Liquidity reached over 1,190.99 million units, equivalent to a trading value of over VND34,422.43 billion. The entire floor had 177 stocks increasing, 58 stocks remaining unchanged and 137 stocks decreasing.

The VN30 Index increased by 12.65 points (+0.68%) and stopped at 1,861.2 points. Liquidity reached more than 548.86 million units, equivalent to a trading value of more than VND 18,368.68 billion. The VN30 group of stocks ended the trading day with 19 stocks increasing, 2 stocks remaining unchanged and 9 stocks decreasing.
