On the evening of August 28, the price of SJC gold bars skyrocketed.

(NLDO) – Both businesses and gold shops simultaneously listed the price of SJC gold bars at new highs at the end of today.

On the evening of August 28, the domestic gold market continued to record notable fluctuations.

Gold companies such as SJC, PNJ, and DOJI simultaneously adjusted the buying price of SJC gold bars to 127 million VND/tael and the selling price to 128.5 million VND/tael, an increase of 300,000 VND/tael compared to the morning.

SJC gold bar price increased for 3 consecutive days, totaling about 800,000 VND/tael.

Gold bar price approaches 130 million VND mark

Notably, prices at small gold shops in Ho Chi Minh City also jumped in the evening of August 28. After only 2 days of decline, gold shops suddenly adjusted the price of gold bars to increase again at the end of today, to 128.7 million VND/tael for buying and 129.7 million VND/tael for selling, an increase of 1.2 million VND/tael compared to yesterday. The precious metal on the free market is heading back to its historical peak - 130 million VND.

The price of SJC gold bars on the free market is increasing faster than at gold companies and commercial banks.

Meanwhile, the price of 99.99 gold rings and jewelry gold was stable at the end of the day, around VND120.1 million/tael and sold at VND122.6 million/tael. The price of gold rings is nearly VND6 million/tael lower than that of SJC gold bars. This difference has caused many people to switch to buying gold rings, in the context of SJC gold bars being scarce and prices reaching record highs.

SJC gold bar price increased rapidly at the end of the day

Domestic gold prices this afternoon "made waves" due to the influence of world prices. In the international market, the precious metal suddenly skyrocketed to over 3,400 USD/ounce/ounce, up about 15 USD/ounce compared to the previous session. Gold prices increased when the USD went down. The USD index fell below the 98 point mark, falling to 97.9 points at the end of today (Vietnam time).

According to analysts, gold prices are rising as investors choose gold as a safe haven, as the US dollar becomes less attractive and US economic data shows rising inflation.

Meanwhile, in the domestic market, investors are still waiting for the price of SJC gold bars to decrease following the world price. However, to narrow the gap between gold prices and world prices, it is necessary to solve the problem of scarce gold supply and investors' expectations of an upward trend in gold prices.

Currently, the world gold price converted according to the listed exchange rate is about 108.7 million VND/tael, nearly 20 million VND/tael lower than the price of SJC gold bars.

SJC gold bar price increased by nearly 1 million VND/tael at gold companies and commercial banks in recent days.

World gold prices also jumped at the end of the day, surpassing the 3,400 USD/ounce mark.
