
On the evening of December 1, the Head of the National Civil Defense Steering Committee issued Official Dispatch No. 36/CD-BCĐ-BNNMT on responding to floods in the Central region.
According to the forecast bulletin of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, from the night of December 2 to December 3, the eastern region of the provinces from Quang Ngai to Dak Lak and Khanh Hoa will have moderate to heavy rain, locally very heavy rain, with rainfall in some places exceeding 180 mm. From the night of December 3 to December 5, the area of the provinces from Quang Tri to Da Nang city and the eastern part of Quang Ngai province will have heavy to very heavy rain, with rainfall in some places exceeding 250 mm; warning of the risk of heavy rain over 100 mm/3 hours.
To proactively respond to heavy rain, floods, inundation, landslides, and flash floods, the National Steering Committee for Civil Defense requests the People's Committees of the above provinces and cities to closely monitor forecasts and warnings of heavy rain, floods, inundation, flash floods, and landslides and provide timely and complete information to local authorities and people to proactively prevent; deploy shock forces to inspect and review residential areas along rivers, streams, low-lying areas at risk of floods, inundation, flash floods, and landslides to proactively clear the flow of blocked and obstructed areas; proactively organize the relocation and evacuation of people to safe places and have plans to support food and necessities for people at evacuation sites.
Ministries and branches, according to their state management functions and assigned tasks, proactively direct and coordinate with localities to respond to floods.
Vietnam News Agency, Vietnam Television, Voice of Vietnam and mass media agencies from central to local levels increase information on flood developments to authorities at all levels and people to proactively respond.
