Musician Dinh Tram Ca
On the morning of December 1, the Vietnamese music world was shocked to hear the sad news: musician Dinh Tram Ca - author of melodies imbued with the soul of the countryside, born in 1941, from Ward 5 Vinh Dien, Dien Ban, Da Nang, breathed his last after a period of treatment, at the age of 84.
His family and medical team took good care of him, but due to his old age and poor health, he passed away, leaving his relatives, friends and music lovers in deep sorrow. Not long ago, the program "Mai Vang Nhan Ai" of Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper visited him and gave him gifts.
Dinh Tram Ca writes music with memories and feelings of his homeland.
Mentioning Dinh Tram Ca is mentioning one of the musicians with a very unique voice: rustic, stirring, rich in narrative. His music carries the breath of the rivers of the Central region, of the pain of human fate, of deep love for the homeland like echoes from memory.
During more than half a century of composing, he left behind many songs that have become an impression in the hearts of the public, notably "Song Que" and "Ru Con Tinh Cu" - songs that have transcended time with sincerity and emotion without the need for ostentation.
Each of his melodies is like a slice of life, both simple and profound, making listeners feel love, loss, the beauty and fragility of human life.
Condolences from colleagues
The passing of musician Dinh Tram Ca has left a void in his family's hearts, making many artists who had successfully performed his music feel emotional. Singer Hong Van shared: "His music always makes me feel my heart soften.
Every time I sing "Song Que", I always feel like I'm returning to my hometown. He's gone, but his melodies are still there, living forever with the audience."
Singer Lan Ngoc said that he was a gentle musician, living with a very profound perspective on musical life. The musical legacy he left behind is a priceless gift for future generations."

And singer Dinh Van, whose voice is associated with many of his compositions, choked up: "I am lucky to be able to sing music by musician Dinh Tram Ca for decades. His music is sad but not tragic, but sad like the sigh of the homeland, of the fate of hard-working people.
His passing is a great loss to Vietnamese music. But I believe he can rest in peace, because his songs are still being sung and remembered."
A voice still echoes
The quietness in musician Dinh Tram Ca's life contrasts with the enduring vitality of his works. He did not follow trends, did not make noise, but chose to quietly contribute sincere melodies to life. That is the reason why many generations of singers seek out his music as if seeking a pure memory.
The musician's passing is a great loss to Vietnamese music, especially the deep, sad music of the Central region. But his legacy of songs imbued with life and humanity will live forever, like the river of his homeland that flows endlessly through many generations.
In addition to composing music, he is also a poet - a son of Dien Ban who had many poems published very early in many newspapers in Saigon - Ho Chi Minh City. In addition to the highly appreciated collection of student poems "Night Eyes" printed in 1969, his poems have been introduced in newspapers and magazines since 1975 until now.
With more than 100 songs introduced before the country's reunification, music lovers have deep affection for songs such as: "Lullaby of old love", "Homeland river", "Fly away the drizzle", "Sad phoenix", "Rain La Qua rain Vinh Dien"... which were performed by famous singers such as: Khanh Ly, Le Thu, Hong Nhung, Phuong Hong Que, Phi Nhung, Dinh Van... on stages at home and abroad or on CDs over the past decades.
His songs were also composed by many composers of "Tan Co Giao Duyen", performed by famous artists such as: Ut Bach Lan, Le Thuy, Minh Canh, Minh Vuong, Phuong Lien, Thanh Sang, Vu Linh, Phuong Hong Thuy, Thanh Hang... and were loved by the public.
