(QBĐT) - Regarding the article reflecting the situation of some subjects using high technology on cyberspace to commit fraud, especially in the tourism sector in recent days, published by Quang Binh Newspaper, the authorities promptly took action to verify and handle the case.

To prevent fraudulent acts and property appropriation in the tourism sector, especially the use of social networks to create fanpages that show signs of violating the law, appropriating property, affecting tourists as well as the image of Quang Binh tourism, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism (VH, TT and DL) has issued documents to establishments and businesses providing tourism services in the province. Accordingly, the solutions that need to be focused on are to regularly review and monitor information on cyberspace to promptly detect fanpages that show signs of impersonating the official fanpage of the unit and promptly report to the authorities for handling measures in accordance with the provisions of law.

In addition, tourism service establishments and businesses need to proactively implement solutions to improve security, prevent intrusion and information falsification; research and register copyrights and trademarks for establishments and businesses to establish ownership of trademarks and protect trademarks from infringement by other organizations and individuals. During the operation process, strengthen coordination with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to raise awareness and warn about new methods and tricks of using high technology in cyberspace to defraud and appropriate property, especially when preparing to enter the tourist season.

Regarding this content, the Provincial Police have promptly grasped and recommended that people and tourists implement synchronous solutions; enhance necessary skills when transacting on cyberspace, especially money transfer transactions. When detecting fake pages or signs of fraud, it is necessary to quickly report to the nearest authorities for timely handling.

The provincial police also recommend that tourism service establishments and businesses ensure that information on fanpages and websites is accurate and complete; publicize deposit policies, payment methods and official bank accounts on all platforms; regularly check pages with similar names to detect fake cases early; warn customers about the risk of fraud from fake fanpages and websites. When detecting a suspected fraud case, it is necessary to promptly report it to the local police agency for handling. Provide relevant information and evidence to serve the investigation.

People need to proactively protect their personal property, accommodation establishments need to strengthen inspections to protect their reputation and brand; at the same time, actively coordinate with functional forces to investigate and strictly handle violations according to the law.
