Co To Island is preparing to welcome the 2025 summer tourism season with new products and attractive experiences. Island exploration tours, water sports activities, nightlife entertainment, and green tourism initiatives promise a vibrant summer that will attract tourists.
According to the tourism development plan, by 2025, Co To aims to welcome 300,000 tourists, achieve high revenue, and attract investors. The district focuses on developing green tourism, protecting the environment, upgrading infrastructure, and diversifying tourism products.
Ms. Ngo Thi Minh Sao, Deputy Head of the Culture, Tourism & Science and Technology Department of Co To District, said: Co To is preparing for the 2025 tourism season with the goal of developing vibrant and sustainable tourism. In particular, emphasis will be placed on green tourism, combining tourism economic development with environmental protection and preservation of natural landscapes, creating unique and lasting experiences for tourists.
Accordingly, to prepare for the 2025 summer tourist season, Co To has launched an early promotional and communication campaign with many vibrant activities to stimulate tourist demand. Digital media channels and online campaigns have been intensified, especially the websites Cototourist.com and Amazingcoto.vn, providing rich information about the destination and tourism activities, raising awareness and attracting tourists.
To enhance its appeal and create novelty, Co To is expanding its tourism space, implementing island tours with 6 pilot routes. Destinations such as Co To Port, Carp Island, Lion Island, Co To Con Island, and Thanh Lan Port promise to attract tourists who love nature and water sports. Water sports activities such as kayaking, surfing, parasailing, and stand-up paddleboarding at Hong Van and Tinh Yeu beaches are being actively promoted.
Beyond developing individual tourism products, Co To also focuses on promoting linkages between destinations in the region. The communes and towns in the district have developed tourism plans for 2025, coordinating closely with localities in the area. Thanh Lan organized the Sea Opening Festival and introduced attractions such as Van La Bridge and the shrine in Hamlet 2, while Co To town planned and organized a kayak race. These events will be new highlights attracting tourists back to Co To every year.
To diversify the experience, Co To is developing nighttime entertainment activities such as night markets, amusement parks, sporting events, and cultural performances, extending the length of stay and increasing revenue. The night market and commercial activities in the Central Service and Trade Center will create a space connecting tourists with Co To's distinctive products, from handicrafts to local island specialties.
Co To Island places special emphasis on developing green tourism. The "Net Zero Tour" program is a prominent initiative, minimizing carbon emissions from transportation and accommodation to food, protecting the environment, and providing new experiences for tourists. At the same time, the district is also developing sports and cultural events to attract visitors. Beach sports competitions such as beach volleyball and pickleball will be held regularly, creating a vibrant and engaging atmosphere.
A new feature of the 2025 tourism season is the significant investment in tourism infrastructure. Co To has renovated waiting areas and ports, upgraded public lighting systems and internal transportation on the island. Accommodation facilities, restaurants, and hotels have also been upgraded to meet the needs of tourists. To improve service quality, Co To ensures strict monitoring, public price listing, and severe penalties for commercial fraud and price gouging. The district has also implemented a hotline to receive feedback and protect the rights of tourists.
According to statistics, in the first three months of 2025, Co To welcomed over 10,000 visitors, an encouraging number even before the official tourist season began. With thorough preparation, innovative tourism products, upgraded infrastructure, and a safe tourism environment, Co To is striving to achieve its goals and become an attractive, sustainable destination, drawing both domestic and international tourists.
