Should girls study Information Technology?

I took the aptitude test of the University of Information Technology, Ho Chi Minh City National University and got enough points to pass.

However, my parents thought that this major was not for girls because it was too dry and difficult. The whole family strongly objected. My parents even said that if I was still "stubborn", they would cut off the aid and let me pay for my own tuition.

My family wants me to study Education. However, this is not my wish.

Ever since high school, I have loved learning about information technology. I love the feeling of creating useful websites or software. I am quite confident in my math skills and logical thinking ability, but because I do not have in-depth knowledge of the subject, I still do not have enough arguments to convince my family to agree.

I really hope to receive advice from everyone to protect my dream, because the deadline for university admission registration is coming soon.
