On the afternoon of September 8, the Traffic Police Department of Hanoi City Police issued a notice to regulate traffic and organize directions for vehicles serving the visit of US President Joe Biden to Vietnam.
Accordingly, on September 10 and 11, activities will take place in Hanoi to welcome international delegations to Vietnam. To ensure security, safety and smooth operation to protect international delegations; Hanoi City Police will direct traffic and organize directions for vehicles as follows:
From 12:00 - 21:30 on September 10 and from 7:30 - 17:00 on September 11, temporarily ban passenger transport and freight transport vehicles (except vehicles with security badges, buses, environmental sanitation vehicles, vehicles handling and troubleshooting; fixed-route passenger vehicles) on some traffic routes according to the orders and instructions of the authorities; restrict private cars and motorbikes from operating on traffic routes in the following districts: Tay Ho, Ba Dinh, Hoan Kiem, Dong Da, Cau Giay, Nam Tu Liem, Dong Anh, Soc Son, Me Linh.
Also according to the Notice of the Traffic Police Department of Hanoi City Police, during the above period, the City Police will organize directions for vehicles subject to temporary bans and restrictions as follows:
Means of transport from the Eastern and Southeastern provinces (Bac Ninh, Bac Giang , Hai Phong, Hai Duong,...) to the Southern provinces: take Thanh Tri - Phap Van bridge - go to the Southern provinces (Ninh Binh, Nam Dinh, Ha Nam,...) and vice versa.
Vehicles from the Eastern and Southeastern provinces (Bac Ninh, Bac Giang, Hai Phong, Hai Duong , ...) to the Northern provinces (Vinh Phuc, Phu Tho, Thai Nguyen, ...): take National Highway 5 - Nguyen Van Linh - Ly Son - Dong Tru bridge - Truong Sa - Hoang Sa - Vo Van Kiet - National Highway 2 or from National Highway 5 - Thanh Tri bridge - Phu Dong bridge - National Highway 3 to go to the Northern provinces and vice versa.
Vehicles from the southern provinces (Ninh Binh, Nam Dinh, Ha Nam, ...) to the northern provinces (Vinh Phuc, Phu Tho, Thai Nguyen, ...) follow the route Phap Van - Ngoc Hoi - Phan Trong Tue - Phung Hung - Xa La - Van Phu - Le Trong Tan - Provincial Road 70 - Nhon - National Highway 32 - Vinh Thinh Bridge (or Trung Ha Bridge) - to the northern provinces (Vinh Phuc, Phu Tho, Thai Nguyen, ...) and vice versa.
Vehicles are restricted from going on Ring Road III (from Nguyen Trai - Khuat Duy Tien intersection to Vo Van Kiet).
For other routes and vehicles, comply with the regulations on the operation of means of transport in Hanoi (Issued under Decision No. 06/2013 of the Hanoi People's Committee), Decision No. 24/2020 amending and supplementing a number of articles of the regulations on the operation of means of transport in Hanoi issued under Decision No. 06/2013 of the Hanoi People's Committee and other regulatory documents of competent authorities.
The Traffic Police Department of Hanoi City Police requires all vehicles participating in traffic to strictly comply with the Road Traffic Law; when encountering a vehicle with priority signaling, they must promptly change direction to the nearest level crossing or intersection according to the instructions of the authorities to give way to the priority convoy.
Hanoi City Police Department announces to all traffic participants to know, comply, change travel routes appropriately and support the police force in completing their tasks.
