Hanoi City Police deny news of 'establishing 15 alcohol concentration control teams'

In recent days, many social networking sites have spread information about the alcohol concentration control plan of the Traffic Police Department and Hanoi City Police. The posts have the same content: "The Traffic Police Department will carry out a special project in provinces and cities for a period of 1 month. In each province and city, alcohol concentration will be checked on all provincial and national highways from 8am to 10pm every day."

Refuting inaccurate information on social networks

At the same time, in Hanoi, posts also said that the city will establish 15 special 212 teams to control alcohol concentration, along with dozens of locations and routes that will conduct inspections.

The Traffic Police Department of Hanoi City Police confirmed that the information spread on social networks is false. During the peak period before, during and after the Lunar New Year 2024, the Hanoi Traffic Police's determination to strictly handle drivers with alcohol concentration and other violations that cause accidents and traffic jams is a daily plan.

During the upcoming peak season, the local teams and the 141 inter-agency working groups of the Hanoi City Police will continue to work normally. In particular, the locations of the violation handling posts are always kept confidential, so there will be no information leaks.

The Traffic Police Department also denied the information being spread. At the same time, it affirmed that it had issued a specific plan to localities to ensure traffic safety and social order on all three types of roads, railways and inland waterways. During the period before, during and after Tet, the national traffic police force will operate in closed time frames and closed areas to prevent violations from occurring. The plan will last until March 9.

The city police affirmed that it is necessary for people to post information to warn and prevent violations of alcohol concentration and the law. However, this must ensure legal accuracy.
